Wah, you are early on a Sunday morning. Thank you.

Must look after my fan club! :imanangel:

If you had a FB page would Superlike! šŸ˜‚

Btw - the Rosyth answer key that gave the wrong answer looked like the 'official' answer key used by the teachers for marking (as it contained several alternative answers). Even 'top schools' are not infallible I guess.

          1. The new teacher's pupils may have a problem during her lessons as she speaks----------- than the other teachers.

          1. softer
          2. softest
          3. most softly
          4. more softly

The answer is 4. I thought it should be 1.

Yes, the answer is 4. Here we need a comparative adverb. Answer 1 is a comparative adjective.
          r2010:
My mother reported the matter to the police. My aunt did not report it.

          thanks a lot..

          It--------------------------------------------------------
It was my mother who reported the matter to the police, not my aunt.

            66. Sarah does not want to study medicine as much as she does law.

            ________ prefers ____________.

Sarah prefers to study law to medicine.

Sarah prefers to study medicine to law.

Please advise if any of the answers is correct..

            TIA.

Both are wrong as they ignore parallelism, that is you should have the same grammatical units. In both answers, 'prefers' is followed by infinitive+noun whereas 'to' is followed by a noun.

            Should be:
            Sarah prefers law to medicine.
Sarah prefers to study law rather than to study medicine.

            Rgds
            R

Would \"Sarah prefers studying law to medicine\" be an acceptable answer?
