provided! Really \"eye-opening\" as it is very in-depth into the various
methods and ways of tackling Maths Qns. I was like :stupid: :slapshead: - why din I get a copy earlier on? :sad:

You situation is still better than us as we only started doing this book at P5.

We manage to survie through P4 wiithout it.

I read their website,it state that their methods are helping more kids getting A distinction. But I'm afraid if more and more kids get A distinction, then won't the examiner set more difficult questions? :faint: :faint: :faint:

Can you give me advice which science assessment books are useful pls? How did your gal find the science paper ? Is it tricky ? Thanks.

Janet, Pixiedust and other P5 parents,

You can really cut down buying assessment books for P6, for they have hardly any time for assessment books. In fact, I rely on leftover assessment books from P5 and just concentrate on top school papers.

Before you even know it, CA1 will be round the corner and you are dishing out the CA1 papers. Once the Mar break is over, you hardly have any breather and need to start doing SA1 papers. Jun hols will be spent finishing remaining SA1 papers and working at oral and any other inadequate areas to buck up (if you identify those, you may want to target by getting specific assessment books). Then, you will start doing SA2 papers. After SA2, you will buy the other school prelim papers and start working on those. Not to forget that all these time, your school wil be giving out papers for kids to practise, additional supp classes, etc.

All the assessment books will look tempting once you go Popular or bookfest and you will be tempted to buy. But seriously, hold back and only buy when you have identified weak areas that you want to look into and time to work at it. Else you will have loads of untouched assessment books after PSLE. P6 year just fly by much faster than the other primary school years!

Thanks so much for your valuable advice...will definitely remember this. I've got several Math assessment left over...fortunately can pass down to his younger cousin.

Just to check, will there be CA1, SA1, SA2 ? Since PSLE is in Sep, when will SA2 roughly be held ?

Agree with what Pn88n has suggested. Just zoom into the past year papers instead of doing the assessment book.


You may consider to start doing 2011 CA1/SA1 paper during this Nov/Dec holiday.

If I did not remember wrongly, for DD school:

CA1 - End of February to early March
SA1 - Early May
SA2 - immediatley after PSLE oral (22/8 - 26/8)

I also notice for P6, CA1 marks was not listed in the record book. As for SA1 and SA2, both are consider 100% by itself.
