WCW:
I had signed up DS to CMA recently.
We are very surprised with his progress. Previously, i had tried to teach him simple + and - he can use his fingers and toes and still unable to give me a correct answer. But after a few lessons with CMA, he is able to tell me simple 1-digit +/- calculation using mental w/o his abacus. DS and I even played games to test who can give the answer faster
We are very pleased with CMA.
:celebrate: :goodpost: very encouraging indeed!

I'm so glad to hear that, WCW! Ride on his enthusiasm to progress with Maths and he should be well-prep for P1 when the time comes!I had signed up DS to CMA recently.

If you need any referral discount, please let me know

I'm a believer of abacus as I see both my kids progressing in Maths after this rigorous brain training. Having said that, everything has a right time to start and a right time to stop......so timing is impt! -

my son joined CMA when he is 3 yrs old, the instructor told me he is quite young to start with CMA,the school had never taken in such a young child, but i told him if he can pass the assessment, why cant he join in the class? So he bo pian, now 1 year with CMA, my son is learning 2 digits of addition and subtraction and occassionally i have to pay more for the extra workbook that he had done.hi wan2bdad,
Pen88n advice is right!
my opinion: 3 yrs old is young. normally, kids start abacus at K1 or K2. however if want to start child at Nursery N2, earliest age is 3.6 - 4 yrs old, where child slightly more mature.
3 yrs old is too young.
Overall, i think it depends on the child interest.
Of course, i do get complain from the instructor telling me he is very active in class esp after he had completed his assignment, he will disturb his classmates.
