Hi there.....any of your kids manage to report to you ??

No. Never asked DS to call and report. Some kids like to discuss some don't, mine belongs to the 2nd group. What abt you, will ur DD/DS be calling you?

Mine too. He just moves on. I think girls tend to be more elaborate - my P2 daughter will come and tell me what she thought she did wrong for her tests. My son has only one answer - It was ok. šŸ˜„
Mine too...haha! I always console myself that at least he didn't say it was not ok or it was tough or difficult.

DS will not call as he has no handphone today - minimise distraction! I already told him once the paper is over, it is officially over and done. No point re-visiting it. Prep himself mentally for next paper instead.

        Dear Penn88n

You are absolutely right to think this way and unfortunately some parents will harp and harp on the already done paper like how it happened during oral earlier. \" my DS chose this\" my dd wrote that \" etc etc etc. Understand this is just for comfort n consolation. Its only the Eng paper yet, wait n see how the blogs will swarm after math n science papers. We cant change wat our DS n DD gave for their answers so why brood over past paper? Pls parents move n on focus on next paper. At least that the best we can for kids at this crucial period.

Yes, many find it comforting to share, talk about it and then move on. Of course no one should brood too much or for too long so as not to affect the next exams.
Some just put it behind them as soon as it is over. Closed chapter. Done.
But I like KSP as it gives a feel of how it was for other kids.

Hi, think today will run through some of the speed questions that had done for prelim paper 2009!

Think will let DD decide whether she still want to carry on with another set (partial or full) of paper that teacher given yesterday!
I've set aside some Q which DS did not know how to do. Will go thru those, with him soon after lunch. Then a short nap. But I don't know what to do from evening onwards. Yesterday, we did a few maths probs from the unsolved 2011 prelim papers. Then nap followed by a walk. After return DS went thru some notes and tips for Compo, phrases etc.
Today, don't know how to kill time from eve onwards. Do not want to exhaust him with more revision. Any ideas?

Can just go through some questions that he did not get it right at first.

Think later when DD come back she will cheong for some games before taking lunch.

Plan to stop everything by 5pm and let her enjoys her time be it Barbie doll or TV since there are still two and 1/2 rest day before the CL and Science paper.

I guess more focus will be on Science paper after tomorrow.

KSP forum is one of those that gives me a lot of comfort and sharing and it is great! For my kid, I try not to dwell too much about the past paper immediately after the paper, as I am afraid he will brood over it or will get upset with some mistakes, and not be able to concentrate on next paper. I prefer to deal with it after all the papers are over, then we can have open discussion and assess where he stand based on his own interpretation of the standard of the paper and the questions he has queries. Like what I always say to him, usually when we are prepared and attempt an exam paper, we have a feeling (or can even say have a clear idea) of how we fare for that paper.

And remind the kids not to \"jump steps\" for problem sums......marks are awarded based on some steps done!
