the websites to book hotel will charge booking fees… i book directly from the hotel website no booking fees… but the hotel charges is slightly higher… but total abt the same

As far as I know, booking.com website does not charge booking fees. So far, have been booking hotel rooms with them for a few times, there are no problems at all. Of course, it is good to check the hotel website to see if there are any special package deals. Always good to do a bit of homework. And reading the reviews of the hotels at these websites can give you an idea of what to expect.

Can try pyotravel.com
I always book my stay thru this site. They don’t charge any booking fees or taxes. -
Agoda and wotif’s rates are quite good…

bookings without advance payment usually means higher rates; and most hotel chains' website provide for that - just choose the appropriate rates shown
to secure best rates - which is mostly non-cancellable rates - usually advanced payment is needed.
many hotels these days guarantee the lowest rates on internet if you book directly with them, otherwise your room is free !
a lot of time the booking sites (a consolidator) and the hotel's websites offer exact same rates for the same room but hotel's direct booking tend to offer more intangible like last minute upgrade if available while rooms booked with agents are not - because those are considered \"done deal\" by hotel and they need to pay commission to the agent website -

I like to book directly with the hotel. Always have this phobia that one of these internet sites may close down and I'll be left in the lurch in a foreign country!! :nailbite: -

Me too.
These websites are like an 'agent'. As far as i understand - they get some room allocations from a \"whole sale hotel rooms\" and they resell on their websites earning a commission. When you pay on the internet, you pay to them. They are suppose to pay their \"agent\" or the hotel.
Having said this, i ever booked from http://www.wotif.com. I booked rooms from there when my travel is about a week away. They are by far the most reliable (as far as i'm concern). I will compare the rates with booking from wotif and directly from the hotels, some times, the hotel offer better option and rates (hotel special promotion)
