Thanks for the buy-in. You are going to do the marketing? I may attempt to suggest to our school if I see there is a need.
I like the idea! I'm sold. Time to market to higher managementks2me:
...There are a few ideas...and here is one of them. I do not think the number of such students are many, that is the assumption of this idea so a few carts can be set up.
1. Provide easy food like cakes, muffins, hotdogs, etc that is easy to serve.
2. Allow these children to help sell to other children as well but limit sale to 10 kids. so that the children \"working\" have time to eat and other children will not see that these grp are provided with free food but helping at the store.
3. The \"wages\" for the sale is food from that cart.
4. They help count money(gd skill to learn) and help pack up/tidy up.

Of course your idea is yours. Go ahead and see if your school takes it up. Who knows, it might be the start of some entrepreneurship programme for Primary schools :). -

LOL, it's ok, no patent rights...anyway this is no rocket science, anyone can think of it...

For PVs out there, do you think the school prefers "non-working" parents when it comes to choosing PVs?
Do you think that a particular type of contribution would be looked at more favourably to the school, when it comes to choosing PVs?
-
VooVoo:
Yes, I do think so. For example, I think if the parents can help to contribute to the school in more academic terms, such as assisted reading / phonics or maths coaching with their weaker students, then these PV might be more sought after than others. For PVs out there, do you think the school prefers \"non-working\" parents when it comes to choosing PVs?

Thanks for your response! But, would the school expect to see some sort of \"academic\" achievements of the parents before asking the PV to help out in the academic related activities?

Yes I think so, because such parents would be able to contribute during school hours etc, as opposed to working parents who need to take leave or can only do during weekends.
For my case, the interviewers asked me that question during the PV interview, whether me as a working mum will be able to contribute during school hours. Of coz I said I could! LOL. -

Thanks! So, it is not too early for me to start volunteer work now for 2011 registration? :roll:VooVoo:
