Went to ds school just now.The teacher was telling me that some gep kids cannot finish the paper one.

Good thing, its gep already got their dsa .

      Cheers,
      Leanne
Oh dear, if that is the case for GEP students, then what abt those from normal stream ...just hope this situation will not demoralise the kids...we parents must do our part to encourage our kids and tell them to fight on regardless !

So it is safer to get a DSA first as anything can happen during PSLE due to the national exam pressure.

            Hi Leanne

            This is very scary! :nailbite:

Think the stress will spread to CL and Science next week as these two subjects become some hope to help to cover for math.
What time is Paper 1 ending?

              9.05 am.
Yesturday my ds class was released late after the first paper as he said the invigilator was kind of slow .... End up they left w too little time to eat and my ds didn't had anything for recess 🤷 ... He was v hungry after paper 2. So last night I bought a bread for him to eat during today's recess break incase they are release late again .

DS brings along a snack during this PSLE period as I do not want him to rush to buy food for recess. It should be a relaxing recess for them with ample time to rest and go washroom before reporting for next paper.
ya that is a wise move.. 😉

It does sound scary, but we parents must look calm and continue to encourage them....sighz...now it's getting to me. :gloomy:

                  MummySTay:
I remember 2 years ago when DS had PSLE, he thought he lost about 20 marks for Maths. That year, the paper was very tough! In the end he still got A*. Hopefully, this piece of news will make some parents feel better.

because the paper was tough, the standard deviation is greater, hence those at the top will still get high transformed score (t-score) for the subject, because those not so good will get lesser marks and the high SD separate them far far away

that is also why in a year when the papers are tough, the top scorer tends toward 290 in t-score

BTW, are the P1 - P5 all having school holiday during PSLE period ? I know of some getting their students attend afternoon sessions. But how about those school having double session? Sry OTP.

Tough paper means there will be very high T-scorer (the real super kids, mmm...may be 290+) this yr.

Will it equate to higher COP this year? Saw some schools with much lower COP last year.

Too early to discuss this lah, Maths paper still half-way thru.

I heard from a friend that the Math paper was a killer and her son is the A star calibre kind. I can only hope when it comes to my kids’ turn, they will be prepared. Sometimes too tough very demoralising for them, they may not have the heart to focus on science and MT.

Not sure about the main stream students. I really appreciate it. Thank you
