Thanks champion for pointing out the problem.

      The qn are
      a) Which object has been grouped wrongly?
my son's answer was Ping pong ball and it is correct
      b) Give a reason for your answer in (a)
My son's answer was Group M is the group with things made out of two more materials.

      Hi Smartmummy,

Although your son does not like to write long answers, he must at least learn to compare. An addition to his answer can be 'Group M is ... ... materials, unlike the other group which contains things made up of only one material.' Comparison is a key process skill and often students will be penalised if they did not compare.

      Hope it helps!

the school donch practise going thru the qns and getting the students to do 'correction'? :?

Haven't yet do the corrections.I am not sure they will do.

        Hi smartmummy and teh_oh,

Apologies, I did not see the question clearly. Yes, teh_oh you are right. Smartmummy, in educational lingo, your son is not answering to the question. Your son should have provided an explanation to why Group M was the wrong group and compared it to the correct group, which contains items made of one material. Hope this is clearer.

For polar bear and fox, do you use fur or hair for their outer covering? (i.e. acceptable to marking scheme)

Or are they use synonymously and both accepted in marking?

Ah Po! I think both are acceptable - according to the Ultimate Science Guide (Lower Block) šŸ˜‰
