      Hi freesia,

I think it depends on the parents. My elder son is in P2, younger son in K2 Pats now. Next yr P1.

In Pats, he is in extended half day so he has all the afternoon enrichments. I don’t enrol him for any other enrichment at all. From what I see, the weekly reports, the PTMs and the portfolio he brings home, he should be well-prepared for P1 and beyond.

My elder son is in P2, so I know my ds2 definitely knows all the work in P1 and P2. He is able to do the worksheets of my elder son independently.

As for compositions, yes in Pats, they do both Chinese and English writing too. My sons’ Chinese is weaker but they can still write pretty ok. English no problem. My elder son is still topping his class in all 3 subjects.

Just some assurance for those parents whose kids are in Pats and not having enrichment. I think it’s not necc to shell out extra $$ for enrichment. Of course, if the parents want, it’s a bonus.

I too worry when he doesnt sleep well. He will also have dark eye rings. How does a parent prepare the child if he or she is attending half day afternoon? My son wakes up about 630am everyday. He will nap about 1130 for 2 hours. How to get him ready for afternoon session nursery with lunch at home squeezed in? He takes about an hour to eat!!!

Anybody knows what is the curriculum for half day afternoon at Pats? So if one attends afternoon session means he cant have extra enrichment in Pats?

Congratulations on your new job. I share your same concern on Aroozoo branch. How can we tell if the teachers and facilities are on par with other branches? The building is so old now that I cannot visualise how they can refurbish. Happy for you that Aroozoo works for you. I think you and I face the same problem if they go to Eton. The choices are quite clear now 😉

            Hi all PSH parents,

I would like to check if PSH asks for advance school fees payment for January 2012 in order to secure your child’s place in PSH for 2012?

(My child’s current school is doing so. I’m pulling her out and put her in PSH next year.)

              Hi Footix,

YES Pat's not only asks you for advance payment, they ask for it all the way before in AUGUST!!! If you don't pay by Sept, your child loses a slot for the following year...

i’ve never considered whether pat’s will prepare the kids for P1 in future. To me, Pat’s is a place where the kids have tonnes of funz in their pre-schooling years. Kids learnt to speak up more and confident due to the exposure and reassurance from their teachers. And that’s more important to me.

I’ve sent him for enrichment classes and that’s because i am super dilly dally mummy, enrichment classes forces me to reinforce some of the things tat was taught in the class w the boy. Otherwise, i oso dunno where/how to start.

                  Hi footix

yes, u need to pay the deposit and first month’s school fees to secure a place at most childcare centres including PSH.

From my understanding only full day has all the afternoon enrichment. Extended half day (7.30am till 3pm) doesn't include the afternoon enrichment. Nursery has nap time till 3pm and enrichment classes start only after 3pm. It's the same for K1 and K2, but with shorter nap time.

For extended half day for K1 and K2, there is enrichment from 1pm - 2.30pm, thereabouts, after lunch.

K1 nap time is after this enrichment. K2 usually don’t nap anymore.

For full day K1 and K2, after a short rest time (some kids don’t nap at all), they have another enrichment slot from 5pm -6pm. This is where swimming and so on comes in.
