Yes, PSLE Science last today if they do not take HCL and P6s have finished their PRIMARY SCHOOL education. Then, it's OUR turn. This PSLE thing is so hyped up I am starting to feel that stress level/load on my shoulders. I look at my son and wonder where those years have gone to...P6 ??? :nailbite:I would also like to say *BIG THANKS* to tisha and Janet !

I am sure your son will be fine. Mommy stressed so much this year that next year will get easier. I look at my son and wonder that he has grown so big. He can't quite fit on my lap anymore.

Hi Chenonceau,
I'm not stressed with PSLE YET...more worried with his SA2 at the moment. He just had his EL oral yest...CL today and hope he can remember how to describe the different scenarios :xedfingers:
I've started the ball rolling...this is the link for 'Preparation for PSLE 2012'
http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=26518
maybe it will be more active come Nov/Dec. -

Hi linden2000,
According to my dd, they cannot copy word for word from the passage but they can just paraphrase by changing the sentence structure, order and sequences. As long as the sentence is not exactly the same.
Hope it helps.

Hi, Need to seek some advice regarding English comprehension.
Is it true that answers should not be extracted from passage but must be paraphrased? DS was told by his English teacher that this is a PSLE requirement. But was trying out one of the top schools' SA2 paper and noticed that answers are actually from the passage. So was wondering whether paraphrasing is really compulsory. DS usually has problems paraphrasing and loses many marks as his answers turn out to be different in meaning from passage because he can't think of suitable words to 'replace' those from the passage.
Many thanks! -

Think your dd is right. Confirms my suspicion that ds has misunderstood his teacher and there is no need to actually 'replace' all the words. Just cannot copy word for word. Thanks again.

linden2000, hence we can conclude that the OE compre answer keys for those top school papers are not reliable.
