My dd say-it's about 4 materials(strings) and the weight hung on them. Which string stretches the most,2nd most,3rd most and the least...
Oh yes! Thanks a lot!! I also got (1)..

q43 sand-pond question. Is the water polluted? Why?
-
Junglezoo:
Hi, ms tay. Based on my judgement and some online searching, I think the answer should be carbon dioxide as there is less carbon dioxide given out than oxygen. Thus, there would soon be a lack of carbon dioxide. Besides, water could not be used up that quickly.Ms tay:
I put square
and for the mcq booklet question 4 is carbon dioxide check le
:
My ds teacher say is water is correct.
But the plant culd have sped up respiration.

I just want to clarify with all of you, is it true that there is more weightage on English and Chinese? My friends and their mummies say that English+Chinese=200%, Science is 50% and Maths is 50% as well...
Oh yes, I want to ask about question: 'Which set-up should he use as a control'
What did you put?
It is not true that the weighting for English and Mother Tongue is greater than Maths and Science. -
Verysuperkiasu:
dd put circle.but 3-5 of her friends put square.Smurfiees:
May I ask what did the psixes put for the shadow qn ? some put square , some put circle. May I know which one is the correct one ? And yes , mcq was v.easy . booklet b got a lot of comparisons .
ds put square. what abt the rest? -
ngbrdad:
based on my son's memory....he drew out the pic for me.
How did you manage to see the question ?
light source--->small square cardboard---->metal ball--->bigger square cardbord but same height as the metal ball--->screen (all these are in side view profile). His answer is a square - (the square blocks the metal ball since they are of the same height). -
Oh yes! Thanks a lot!! I also got (1).. :)
My ans also (1). -
For the lack of ___________ question, i put water.
This is my explanation:
Plants give out oxygen when they make food. When there is more oxygen, they will be able to respire faster, to produce more carbon dioxide? So its like there will always be a balance of carbon dioxide and oxygen in the container? (Not sure too).
-
I put carbon dioxide and circle.
In the photosynthesis question, there was a cork in the beaker to prevent water from evaporating into the surroundings and the rate of photosynthesis is higher than the rate of respiration so the rate of photosynthesis will decrease after the carbon dioxide is used up and the plant needs to respire more to release more carbon dioxide.
Then the shadow question⦠the metal ball is further away from the screen than the square thingy, so even though when the lines are drawn in the diagram they look about the same size, but actually the circle shadow will be bigger than the square shadow.
JMHO for putting those answers down. -
OrangeJuice:
You mean the MCQ one ? Its the same . Gravity dont change .
Even when height is different?
I thought it is gravitational energy that will change when the height is different? I thought gravitational force depend on mass? :scratchhead:
That was how my DD explained to me too when I thot height affects the gavity lvl....
Gravitational potential energy will change due to height, but it is not gravitational energy or force. Gravitational potential energy is the one that will change to kinetic energy when things start falling from a height or sliding down from a height. Note the difference.
