UNSW is new to me. ICAS yes at P3 level, they even have at P2. depending on whether the school inform the parents to sign up. I signed my boy up for fun last year for computer skills. This year, he did computer skills and 3 other subjects as his form teacher suggested that everyone from their class should attempt all ICAS papers for exposure.

sorry
what is ICAS or UNSW?? -
Round 1 results out in ds’ school. 26 out off 44 students in his class got through

UNSW - University of New South Wales
It conducts the exams called ICAS - International Competitions and Assessments for Schools -
there are about 180 primary schools and only 4,000 are going for 2nd round....

so on the avg only 22 from each school..... -
I heard that the 1st screening test was actually marked by the respective school teachers.
Does it mean that the selection is also done by the own school and not MOE?
Is this the reason why some schools "got" the test results earlier than others?
Some even as late as 1 wk later !!!
I am really curious how this system work. Any one to share some light? -

My DS1 also got through round 1. His class (HA) had about 75% got through. Heard one of the MA class had only 1 who went through. His classmate from P1/P2 (not same class this year) also got thru - unexpected as his English was not too good, tho' his Maths was excellent.
:rahrah: :congrats: -

I don't think the schools would have any say in the selection. They probably just feed the scores back to MOE and MOE will release the selected students' names to the schools.I heard that the 1st screening test was actually marked by the respective school teachers.
