certainly they know the end is near and is not good for the stock price for a CEO to die in office, esp company like Apple which has been very much identified with one person even though it has a great team (that take commands from Jobs)

Apple - they are of the light - enlightenment, continuing the work of the people who enlightens. Bite=byte, and to distinguish it from other fruit like tomato. The rainbow colors to 'humanize' the company. It was later replaced by modern monochromatic logo, which has 'light' shining out of it.

Many other references to 'apple': The apple in garden of eden the apple snow that caused snow white to fall asleep, the 'good' vs 'evil', of 'knowledge' vs 'ignorance' - when somebody starts it, then people goes 'oh, that must be it!'
