      24hr-mum:
are the boys well behaved or not in msh? my boy p1 nx year. he very small size and timid and sotong. really worried .

Not to worry too much. My friends whose children are in coed school also has the same problem when it comes to bullying and fighting. It's not just the problem in an all-boys school. The most important thing is how we teach our child to react and what actions are we taking as parents. It also depend on the nature of your child. For example, if your child is the timid kind, there is no point in asking him to stand up and fight. It will make him feel worse if he can't. You must make light of the situation so that your child wouldn't feel victimised. If not, that stigma will stay for a long while.

My DS had his fair share of being bullied. In all fairness, I suspect he could be at fault or even the bully himself. We would talk to him everyday to find out what was going-on in school. As long as there was no serious injury and he was not affected physchologically, we'd leave him to cope with it by himself. It's part of learning process.

someone told me that for young kids, girls are generally faster learners than boys. so its hard for a boy to catch up in a co-ed sch. whereas the teaching style in a boys sch is catered specially for boys.

MSH parents, how is the sch bus? big bus or mini bus? will they turn into ur house in front or main road? will driver escort the child up the bus or the child has to find where the bus is parked? will he shelter the boy if it rains? i m scared cos my boy very blur. nex yr p1.

for my girl’s sch, her friend takes sch bus and it stops only at main rd and opp her flat. there’s one time the bus arrive early and maid hasnt come, the girl crossed the rd herself!

The size of the bus depend on the location. If there are more students living around the same area, it will bigger. The bus drops off my son below the flat. I do believe most buses do it this way. It is ridiculous to ask the student to cross the road. If my guess is correct, this is not allowed. At school, the drop off point is sheltered. If it rains, the driver will carry an umbrella to bring the child to the bus. During the 1st few days, the bus driver will go to the class to pick up the students. After which, the students are expected to know how to find the bus. It should not be a problem. My son was very blur as well but he had no problem in locating the bus. The bus driver will also look out for the students.

                24hr mum,

If you are still residing in bishan, then dun worry, the bus driver for bishan area is very responsible and nice. His is a medium size bus, not very small so he cannot enter small roundabouts. But he will find a safe spot for your boy to alight.
