Is MindStrecther GEP preparatory class essential? They only guarantee e child to be selected at 1st round. Anyway, MS has already done a screening before accepting e child so personally I do not buy their idea.

My DS went for their placement tests wanting to join their HA classes. He got through and MS suggested to enrol him for gep preparatory class. I dont see a need in making my child go through such intense learning. Anyway, he is selected for e 2nd round.

In GEP, it’s not the problem that it’s hard - it’s the problem you have to be like the best 500 pupils in Singapore to get to the GEP class.

One may occasionally wonder how some of these best 500 were selected... :lightrod:

So from SAP school to another SAP school also got priority?

Yes, but if your current SAP school is already a GEP centre, then they would prefer that you stay in your current school.

                Snow Crystal:
                phtthp:

                a) besides Tao Nan & Nan Hua, which other schools have this 'twinning' programme ?

how about other hot schools like - Rosyth, St Hilda, Catholic High, Ai Tong, Maris Stella, South View, Rulang, Henry Park, CHIJ St Nicholas, MGS, SCGS, Bukit Panjang, others ? also got twinning ?
                b) for round 1 Maths paper - besides setting MCQ, do they set problem solving heuristics qns ?

I think 'twinning' term is more applicable for GE schools becos it means GEP twine (or twin?) with High Ability kids :hugs: I understand quite a few other GEP schools have twinning eg Nanyang and ACSP.

Phtthp - I found an article on twinning programs:
                http://www.getforme.com/previous2007/071107_promotingmoreinteractionbetweengepandnongeppupils_more.htm
Article is outdated but gives you an idea on twinning programs GE schools have for their selected HA kids who did not clear Round 2 selection.

                    jtoh,

my dd is in p6 GEP and her sch is near our house and it is a sap school.
my ds is in SAP sch now and it is also a GEP sch so if I put my ds in my dd's sch, do u think they'll let my ds into my dd's sch? (provided he clears round2)

If your dd is in P6 next year, then there'll be no problem for your ds to get into your dd's school. But as she's in P6 this year... But you did say that the school is near your house right? So when you fill in your form for choice of school, put that down as a reason and also other reasons to support your decision. So long as the demand for your dd's school isn't that high it shouldn't be a problem. Also, ask the GEP Branch during the briefing in November. They should be able to give you a clear answer there.

just curious, why didn't u enrol your son into the same school for P1?
