P1 registration usually starts in end June or early July with Phase 1. -
Hi everyone,
Like all of you we will be registering my daughter for primary 1 next year. We have just completed her K2 registration for next and now we have to start stressing over choosing primary schools. We were rejected for PV from St Hilda’s even though we lived less than 1 km from the school. Wonder why are these schools are called neighbourhood schools when folks like us who lived so near don’t even stand a chance into getting in. That sure doesn’t sound right to me. It defeats the purpose of calling it a neighborhood school.
Some of our friends who has gone through this path suggested that we look for schools with strong Secondary schools affiliation but we are not too sure which schools to look at. We’ve been away in KL for the past 9 years so we feel quite lost actually. I am actually an old girl from Katong Convent but feedback about the Secondary school don’t sound happening at all. Can anyone of you give your take on this. Many thanks. -

Hope above helps. -
Rosyth is outside 2 km of my house but next year Jan it will move to old ITE (amk) that is within 1 km of my house. Does it mean I have priority at Phase 2C? Once I knew the news of the school relocating, I could hardly sleep as I am registering my child next year.

The school’s permanent location will be used to determine the distance and not the holding area address. -
I will be registering my boy for primary one next year. My dh is an old boy from Fairfield Pri, hence that will put us in phase 2a. I am thinking of registering my boy for ACS primary or junior, as I am a church member and stays within 1 km of both schools. I need some advice from our seniors here.
1. Should I risk balloting in 2b or register in 2a. -
pandascout,
1. Get letters from church first.
2. register in 2a at Fairfield.
3. monitor situation via tv text during registration, if situation looks good, then unregister in fairfield on last day of 2b and register at 2b in acs.
For your girl, you can only plan next step based on the first child’s registration. if you want to think super far ahead, then just go for fairfield - there’s also affiliated sec school and you don’t have to lift a finger (except find your DH’s old school cert). No point having to fret for your first and then having to do the same all over again for number 2.
