Hi Herbie, how is myovision lens working on? Can this lens prevent eyesights getting worse? I'm really headache of my DD's eyesight. spent a lot of efforts and money to improve it...sigh, no much improve till now. -

We went to get it from holland optical, look for sam. I complained to my family doc abt my ds's frequent complain of headache and he recommeded me to look for sam cos he is very experience and he will pescript the right degree it will not result in frequent headache.

We went to Point Optical group (there are a number of branches but the owner will always go to the branch to attend to you if you are taking the Ortho-K lenses). I think people have been saying the lenses can last a couple of years, if you don't lose or break it...Thanks busymum for your sharing.
How long it can last with 1 pair of lenses?

Besides, I think fundamentally, the child's eyesight has to be maintained at around the same level, which so far from the track record of those around me, it seems to work (note there could always be exceptions). -
My ds1 and dd are both myopic. Hoping to find a solution for them, I read through all the 79 pages here. The reading strains my eyes and I am now totally confused. Ortho-K, altropine, pin-hole, eye exercise, wolfberries, blueberries, chrysanthemum, carrot etc.??? Which is the best? After so many years, why can't HPB find a solution?? :mad: :rant: :stompfeet:

You have got to think about what would work best for yourself and your children - the lifestyle, the costs of various options, and in the case of Ortho-K, not every child is suited to wear (it is afterall a kind of semi-hard lenses). It would be difficult for anyone to prescibe a standard solution as everyone is different. From those who have shared here, altropine seems to work very well, but if parents are not willing to administer the liquid bearing in mind some of the inconveniences with regard to glare, etc., there should be other methods for these parents. Similarly, there are parents who do not want to take the risk of wearing Ortho-K lenses in case of eye infections. There is no one size fits all. -

I believe HPB has done some research on those products available in the market. Shouldn't they publish the findings like the effectiveness, possible side effects etc. so that parents could make better decision? HPB has been doing annual eye check in kindergartens and schools. More children are found to have myopia and at younger age too. The situation has not been improving at all. Have they done any reasearch on possible causes like whiteboards in the school etc.? What are the findings? Just feel helpless for my kids......8228:

There isn’t one solution for everyone, and whatever solution one choose, it must couple with proper eye-care for higher success rate.
