Any reason why not TLL? My own kid has no tuition for now but I heard TLL is good for secondary english. -
For most school subjects explained in a way that teenagers understand I always recommend that students go to http://www.khanacademy.org/ - over 2000 clips explaining many difficult concepts in a very user friendly way.
And specifically for Chemistry get him to try http://www.rod.beavon.clara.net/chemistry_contents.htm chemistry made simple.
Let me know if these are of any help -
Hey Parents,
I am a science(mainly biology and chemistry) tutor, currently still teaching in school too. The new trend for bio and chem now is asking students to process data like drawing graphs(no free-hands), describe and explain the graphs, or give them diagrams and ask them questions in which they must use the information from data/diagram given to answer it. Do tell remind your kids not to write too long or too short. One hint is to follow by the total number of marks awarded for the question.
Hope that helps. -
Hi parents,
i know nothing about Art as an O Level subject has been mentioned in this thread yet.. but if there are any last minute cases or if you even want to start prepping your kid for 2012.. you may pm me for more details.
I'm a certified Art Teacher, graduated from NAFA & NIE. currently teaching the Secondary School students, coaching graduating lot (O & N Level students).
I received trainings for educating toddlers, teenagers and even adults, psychology and pedagogy for them.
Here are some of my drawings, please take a look at it here

To some people, Art is still only a subject that needs to produce “aesthetics”, which is true to a certain extent. Now in this society, Art is a subject and also a form of therapy that really does help one to see and think differently, which is very needed to fuel our creativity. The Art syllabus we used to go through is very different from what we have now in schools. If you have seen my blog, I can do well in technical skills, draw realistically. I’m also good in helping students 'see' what they cannot 'see', building strong foundations, which is what they need to score.
Do PM me for details if interested to find out more about O level Art.
I'm more than willing, more than happy to share with you so you can help your kids work better for the prep stuff.
Parents thinking about whether to let your child take up Art as an O lvl subj, hesitate no more if your child is someone who can commit, because then it's easier to push + you will def finish on time to submit your coursework.
Just my 2cents. Thanks. -

Thank you so much, Kiwidad..awesome website..especially the khanacademy..very impressive!..thanks again. Sure a big help for my DD taking O level next year. What are his study techniques? Has he ever been taught how to study well? One thing I discovered with my own children was that at school they were never taught how to learn properly. Once they were taught some key learning skills their performance improved greatly.
-
Nope, no particular study technique.. that's the worrying part. She's starting not to like Additional Maths especially and is intending to drop the subject. Therefore, I am looking for a Maths specialist/tutor to instil in her some \"love\" for Maths..I am thinking of getting the service of \"smashingexams.com.sg\" . Perhaps they can do some wonders to my DD
