working towards a 1st world mrt system....

before that, work hard to minimise technical faults/service disruptions etc first

and before that, lots of foreign workers / labourers and foreign engineers in tunneling etc are needed .... some call them the foreign trash, and they travel in our mrt system too
I tot foreign trash refers to those who can easily obtain PR but are not the so called talents..don't think foreign workers and labourers can apply for PR anyway..

I am unable to board the trains to marina in peak hours at Khatib station, hence needs to take train to Sembawang to ensure that I can "enter" the train.

If we called them talented, what do we call those singaporeans who also serve tables, drive bus, cook and clean etc..

I thought they are always labelled as blue collar workers? Why the difference? Problem is that because of these two words, some of the so called talented PRs thought the world of themselves, looking down at Singaporeans. (not saying all of them)

naturally they are local singaporean talent
Everyone, regardless of what they do (as long as it is decent work), contributes to the well-being and sustainability and growth of the country, hence everyone should be appreciated and respected for doing an honest days' work. It is when the money one makes is perceived to make one more superior than another that one start to 'look down' on 'blue-collar' jobs and gives room for opportunists to colonize our society. I know of many whom value respect over money, as they know their own abilities are limited (没有资格)。 However, because of how our society discriminates on them, it sometimes make them feel 'shameful' to take up those jobs...

Transport Minister sighted at Bishan Circle Line station

                      Wednesday, Oct 19, 2011
                      AsiaOne

Transport Minister Lui Tuck Yew was sighted observing the operations at Bishan Circle Line station this morning by a Stomp reader.

The recently opened Circle Line, 10 years in the making, has witnessed some birthing pains, including overcrowding and train service breakdowns.

However, it seemed as if the situation has improved, the reader observed.

from the pictures submitted by the reader, it seemed that Mr Liu was on his own and not with a whole bunch of staff. :rahrah: :rahrah:
