My DS1 is in P6 GEP and he has just finished his PSLE. He has COs (confirmed offer) from RI & HCI thru DSA, and will be accepting the offer from RI.

My DS2 is in P3 and he did not make it to Round 2 of GEP Test. DS2 is very different from his kor-kor, very playful and not focussed in his studies. Guess it's better for him this way, as it will require a great deal of maturity, independence & self-discipline to handle the rigorous demands of the GEP program, traits which I find still lacking in DS2.

Wishing your DS Best Of Luck and Great Success in his GEP Selection Test!

      Congrats on ur DS1. šŸ™‚
I think each individual kid have their own traits.
      Thanks for your wishes.
My DS is those type of carefree type not sure if he can make it or not as we never prepare him or send him to those sch for training.
He in fact consoled himself that at least he got a chance to try the GA paper to see what is it about.

Just to share, mine too. Although both DS got into 2nd round but elder DS
more diligent & mature, P6 this year too, just finished PSLE, got CO from NUSHS, WL from HCI thr DSA too ... Younger DS character more carefree but he enjoyed yesterday session very much although he said quite tough for him...brought lots of snack to share with friends for today's session, hope he enjoy today too .... think its a good exposure for younger DS even if he cannot make it... anyway, we also didn't prepare him for it, just want him to try since he has the chance ....[/quote]Hi dagong, Congrats to your DS1.. is he from GEP too?

Ya, we also didn't prepare our kids for the GEP Tests or send them for any special training courses, as we believe that, only a child who has what it takes (naturally) to be selected for the GEP Program, would truly enjoy and benefit from the program.

Wishing your DS2 Best of Luck & Success in his GEP Round-2 Selection Test!

Oh ..no..no... elder DS not from GEP, just that he is mature for his age and very consistent in his work, so he is able to handle his studies well without having me to focus too much on him, esp this year PSLE, his school already very \"kiasu\", his teachers almost \"drive\" all of them \"crazy\" with lots of homework, so we do not have to give him any tuition at all, good for us, can relax a bit šŸ˜„

This is not millionare game, the 'if you do wrong will deduct points' will not happen here. My friend's DD went to GEP round 2 test last year, her teacher told her 'guess and fill' strategy, she made a lot of guess and fill, and passed round2 test finally.

hmmm, true that no deduction/penalty for wrong answers then this method helps.

But for your friend's kid, she must have some grey matter (and possibly good ones). Guess and Fill strategy can only get you that far - pass round 2, still got 3 more years to to leh :xedfingers:

My friend's DD was excellent in her school. She was always the 1st or 2nd in her grade for P1-P3. Even now, she is still belonging top 3 student in her GEP class.

During GEP test, her feedback was like most of kids, difficult in round 2 test, many questions she was unsure just use guess and fill.
