Wow...i read this thread and i'm falling in love with it!

I didn't know there's such topic for it and i'm so happy reading it!

I couldn't agree better when our kid kept asking us for another brother/sister and its really dreadful to even answer them the simplest question.

My son is 7yrs old and been asking me when can he have another brother or sister. Sad part he says he's lonely and another saddest part he knew his twin didn't make it to this world 😢

I'm going to be 36 and hubby is turning 40. Saddest part hubby is working overseas and he's only back like 4 or 6mths once or twice a year..so how dreadful it is and how on earth to conceive?! 😢 Chances to have another one is pretty slim with age catching up and also having my son was a challenge 7yrs ago and giving birth to him was another challenge which i nearly lost my life bring him out to this world.

I guess i am really thankful to GOD 🙏 for HE gave me the only ONE child in our life....rather than nothing at all..but i hope HE answer my prayer for me to have another one even tho I hv to risk my life again 😄

I keep telling myself there are advantageous to having only one child. My only gal is very very close to us and in this respect, I do not think that my family is in any way, disadvantaged to other families. Its also less financially straining. I know those with 2 or 3 kids will shoot me for passing this comment. But its really expensive to raise a child these days. Just think of all the tuition, enrichment, insurance and medical bills that we have had to fork out. What surprises me is how some are so attracted by the baby bonus thinking its sufficient for 21 years. I know a lady with three kids and she can’t even afford to send her kids for swimming lessons. Her first child was a honeymoon baby, had the second because she wanted the tax rebate, and the third because she wanted a girl. She is struggling cos her working hours are long and hence has no time to spend with them. Also can’t afford to send them for any tuiton as and when it is needed.

Supermomie, we shld indeed be thankful that God gave us a child of our own flesh and blood. I know couples who couldn't have any and have to adopt.

Like you, I also pray and hope for another child but not to the extent of risking my life. For DD and DH's sake, I think my life is more impt than having another child. So I just let nature take its course...

Wah…glad I found this page through the active posts else I would have missed it.

My DS is also the only child and he is now 9 years old.
We have tried actively hard to conceive for no 2 from western medication to TCM since he was 3years old. And even went through checkup etc and the last one was IUI recommended by the gynae, sad to sad fail. The gynae had actually recommended us to do IVF, but then I am not ready as I scared of jabs, lack alone the stress doing IVF. But guess luck is not on our side plus hubby is seems like living in a different world from me… he worked into the nights. Like that how to conceive with the timing and stresses as we aged.

Last week also asked by my auntie if I am going to have no 2 since DS is now 9 already. I am now 37 this year…she speak as if I can plan when I want to have kid like my cousins? They are into prevention methods… mine no need that also no luck. sigh. Sorry for the grumbling here.

I think I should be thankful to god that I still have a son. Though he maybe lonely at times, but he is quite independent and caring. He is rather attached to us.

Hi,I completely understand you as I am in the same situation as you. DS now 8 years and have been trying since he's three and I am 2 yrs older than you...

Like you, i am thankful and glad to have him as there are couples who cannot have children of their own. But at the same time, I am worried for him...

I just turned 38 in september and dd is now in p2. I dun think there is much hope left. I have more or less told myself that its probably gonna remain status quo.

Like I said, I am Thankful to GOD, that we have blessings to go thru pregnancy and experience motherhood...

But we should also not give up trying, we could be LUCKY!!
