24 books? That is nearly the entire set - 30 books. I am still contemplating should I just buy the 30 books set, or should I start with just the 10 books 1st set, then continue to buy the 2nd and 3rd set. Very tempting to buy the entire 30 books set (price is about $70+ exclude courier charges) but DH will no doubt nag about it again.
Thank you for your information as I'm not aware that the entire set is 30 books.
I get the 1st book 老猫 for DD to try and she loves it so I slowly get in the rest.
The price that you quoted is very attractive and is impossible to pay this amount if buy from the local.
The 10 books set works out to be <$30 without courier charges. Adding in the charges, I would expect to pay ~$4-$5 per book, which is still less than what I would have to pay if bought locally.
Everytime I get online to start buying from Dangdang (previously), everything looks so attractive and will end up burning a hole in my pocket again.
This round considered as their Christmas presents
Hi Pen88n,
Yes, if you get it from local, the price is various from $8.15 to $10.69 before 10% or 20% discount (with membership). Therefore the price is still worth it.
True, all these books (EL or CL) really burning a big hole in my pocket since we have started to buy them for DD.
Our collections also include a lot of DVD too! :moneyflies:
The only return is hopefully they gain a lot from all these investment! -

If my dw is as good as you in teaching languages, you can be sure I'll shake leg, drink coffee and hum my favourite tune all day long. Let the expert (you) do the job lah, haha.Hi markch,
How I wish my hubby is like you. There is no way he will read Chinese novels on his own to improve his Chinese. He would rather read the English version of the original 西游记.
I suspect that my dw is very relaxed because she knows that I'm very on-the-ball kind. Smart girl.Brenda10:
Ok, I go buy this 寻梦 to test water first. Thanks for the recommendation.寻梦 is one of the wonderful novels that I still like to read even after several years.

 Din know the books now cost so much. When I was teen, the book cost $3-$5.

During those days, we were too poor to buy books. I think the wisely books that I read fm Upper Pr to Sec sch were either borrowed fm friends or the sec sch library. At that time, my sec sch had the whole series
. I will seriously consider buying the whole set to read again when I find the time. -
Hi markch,
Thank you for your compliments
I always tell my hubby that he is very lucky

Hi Brenda,
Thanks for reminding me about 寻梦, I must go buy this.
atan,
I also borrowed all the books from the library when I was a teenager, could not afford to buy back then. -
I bought a few of the books from the book fair in Suntec last year, by 明窗出版社, 珍藏版,$ 14.05 after discount.
Later I found them free from appsotre, incl 金庸&亦舒. (not sure if it’s still free) -

Hi Tamarind,
Beside 卫斯理 series, I also like 原振侠 series. The novels like 天 人,迷路,灵椅 etc all are very interesting.
Hopefully can find all these books in 简体字。 -

Anyone has tried the new series from 倪匡, the 卫斯理武侠 series? Wonder how good it is? His latest venture into new arena......tamarind:
