I will try to comb through the classified ads today to see if I can find an agent who can help with this. Unless they tell me that since we already have our address, we don't need to do the home leave endorsement, I will consider going down just for the contract.


The form is another nitemare.... Ask so much details which I wonder if necessary that even my maid is unsure of and have to call her parents to enquire.

Yup, working agreement you and maid must go down to sign.
Then you give them passport to endorse.
3 days later, you collect it in the afternoon.
Collection is very fast.
You don't need to go down personally.
Anyone with the same address as you can collect it.
Agent will charge alot. I feel it is not worthwhile.

But if you have your address on the last page of her passport and it has not changed then likely don't need to endorse again.
You can confirm with them at the embassy.

Form don't worry cos my maid can't remember date of birth of parents and she left it blank and they said it was alright.
Her details are the most important.
At the embassy they will take her thumb print and signature.

So I assume that don't need photos already??? Actually her passport was endorsed with our address back in 2009. Wonder if we need to endorse again.... I tried to call the embassy this morning.... No one picks up. Wonder why do they provide people with a contact number when there are no intention to answer :frustrated:

Better take photos lah since it is stated that photos are required.
Then can save trouble queueing up there to take photo.
Remember it must be in white background.

Ask them about endorsement.....the guy there said it is for multiple travel so long it is still the same address.

Hi Carebear and anyone with info,

Just came back from Indonesian embassy to renew passport and to do the work agreement. Passport renewal was quick but it took longer for the work agreement as they opened later and only one counter was opened at the beginning. You have to go to the second floor to do it.

I had to do the work agreement as it is a requirement to process the new passport but then, I realise that the work agreement has the existing WP number. I wonder whether this will be a problem when our helpers try to obtain the KTKLN card as her new WP number would be different from the WP Nb stated in the working agreement. I forgot to ask just now. What do you think? Do we need to redo the work permit agreement after new WP is done?

Don't worry the work permit number will forever be the same!
Even if the maid leaves Singapore and returns, it will still be the same.
It is unique to each maid.
That's how you can view your previous maids info on whether they return to Singapore to work again for someone else.

Thanks. Regarding insurance, seems ntuc has better coverage. They told me we can renew over the phone and they can process within the same day. And they give option between 14- month and 26- month. Just sharing.

Actually I wanted to continue with AIA but they said can only renew through agent and agent gave the wrong info that WP can only be renewed 1 month before expiry.
So I called NTUC and they were very helpful and gave the exact info given by MOM and also can renew through phone and policy will be in force the next day.
Since they so efficient and knowledgeable i bought from NTUC.
Later I might add on a rider for a higher hospitalization claim, should my maid return to work.

Oh, if you have purchased air ticket prior to making new passport, remember to call airline company to change the passport number.
I just did mine this morning.
