I think we should applaud our children for their risk-taking attitude and their independent mind. I know many kids choose schools based on where their circle of friends are going and which is viewed as more prestigious, so the fact that they have decided on NUSH despite what others have to say, shows a certain degree of maturity. Let's support them all the way!Frog:
....well, my DD just keyed in NUSH, its her choice, and she is excited about going there next year, so support her decision.
Wow, that's great ! At least found someone that has the same passion as DS. He is going to choose NUSHS instead of HCI from his DSA Option and take on a route less travelled by all by putting NUSHS as his 1st choice. Hope he had made the right choice ! -

Yes seeing her passion for maths, having got her GCSE O-level maths distinction while in P5, and her ability to keep up with A-level maths, its an opportunity for her to accelerate her learning at NUSH.

Hi Frog, NUSH is the right school for your dd then, given her talent and passion for Math. She'll definitely benefit from the accelerated programme.

Your DD obviously know what she is doing (and what NUSH can offer her). With her passion in maths and if she choose Maths or Computing (in future careers ) she can finish NUSH within 4 years (min) and joined the Univ by 17/18 year old. A few of past NUSH students have gone these path. 2 of them have completed NUS maths n computing with First class honours and are now persuing PHD at foreign Univ on scholarship. Juz for info.Frog:

They can take NUS modules but will stay the full 6 years in NUSH.

4. Will NUS High School students get advanced placement at NUS?
Yes. The NUS High School curriculum makes provisions for students at Year 5 and Year 6 to read NUS modules directly or to enrol in project/research modules for credits. These credits will be recognised as NUS modular credits when the students seek admission to NUS. Take note that NUS High School students will not graduate in less than 6 years. They will stay for a full 6 years and take on NUS modules if they fulfill the pre-requisites to do so.
