I taught my gal roots absorb water and mineral salt from the soil and it is the Xylem carrying tubes that transport them to all other parts of the plant.

Sigh.. it is really madness, having to do all these again ! Looking forward to 2nd Nov, which is the end of SA2 :rahrah:

So the xylem carries the water and minerals, not only water?

Yes. Xylem carries water and minerals. As for food, also known as sugar is being transported by the Phloem.

Fact: The food plants make is sugar. Not sure if this is true.

A system is made up of different parts that work together to perform a task. e.g. torch, handphone, bicycle.

Don’t think paper clip or plastic bag is a system.

so a paper clip with a decorative flower ornament is not a system?

if the paper clip is one of the parts that made up something … that ‘something’ would be a system not the paper clip … I hope I am right.

e.g a mechanical paper is made up of a different parts e.g. pencil lead, spring, plastic cap, plastic body part. these are parts of the systems that can be assembled to form a mechanical pencil (a non-living system) and this system is used to perform a task (write)
