            ksi:

            a) R
            b) O, S, U
            c) D, R

Trick question? (a) and (c) is similar question.
Same answer as my DD, also the answer given by the assessment book.
But DD's teacher gave the answer as
            a) R, U
            b) O, S
            c) D, R, U
            WCW:
            a) G, J, U
            b) C, O, S
            c) B, D, P, R
            Assuming using Caps...
Sorry, WCW. Should have made myself clear that we are looking at the letters that formed the word DINOSAUR.

But interestingly, you also gave \"U\" as one of the answers for (a).

So why isn't \"U\" one continuous curved line?

              Hi,

Can anyone explain why is the answer : 36?
              Thanks in advance.

              Question :
"David read 3 pages from a book every day, from Monday to Saturday.
He then read the remaining 12 pages of the book on Sunday.
How many pages were there in the book?"

I believe the answer should be 30.

Mon to Sat : 6 days
                Read 3 pages a day : 6x3=18 pages
                Read 12 pages on Sun

                Total pages in book : 12 + 18 = 30 pages

Big D, your dd and I use our right brain to solve this.

The teacher and WCW use the left brain to solve this.

There is no right and wrong because to me, letters and numbers are conventions which we human set up, as long as they are recognisable, there is no need to go into lines and curves. If we follow strictly writing skills, the way we write should dictate if \"U\" is curve or make up of 2 lines and a curve. We never write \"U\" as 2 lines followed by a curve from writing basics, it would look ugly.....curvy things hardly look ugly...do you agree? :rotflmao:

                      Hi,

Does anyone know how to explain the solution or do the working for this?

                      Thank you in advance.

                      Question :
Sharon had $31 more than Jessica.
Amanda had $16 less than Jessica.
How much more money had Sharon than Amanda?

                        So Sharon has ($31 + $16) = $47 more than Amanda.
