Neighbour Stories

smartmummy:
in this case she can report .Why need to keep quite?
not sure if she complained bfore...didn't ask. but that was many yrs back...maybe neighbours moved out liao! -

There is this neighbour who is a hawker. She'll fry a lot of garlic and the smell of so much garlic is not too pleasant. Her upstairs neighbour finally cannot tahan and she went to this garlic neighbour and gave her her phone number, so that before she's about to fry garlic, she can call her and then, she can bring in the laundry and close the windows. A very reasonable and amiable approach to this problem.

Give and take. Good outcome! :snuggles: -
Never faced problems with neighbors ESP in our ex home of 8 years when we are good friends juz like kampong style living!
We have just shifted to our new home abt 2 mths back and seriously the only thing we dislike abt our home is the neighbor next door. We are at the corner unit and they are the corridor unit. They have permanent laundry stand for teck kohs on our right and 2 drying racks on our left which is abt 1m away from our doorstep. :frustrated:
Call us fussy pots but the cluttered feeling is so overwhelming not to mention the display of bras facing our main door. There are clothings almost 24/7 as they left each batch out for few days before the next batch of laundry is out. We are very much in a fix as to if we shd speak to them nicely though the fear of creating displeasure even if they might not show. Juz so frustrated every time we open the door, naught me gave a nickname \"George\" as in geroge of the jungle! :nailbite: -

were the stands there when you viewed the house which i am sure you been there more than once?
i probably wont buy the unit if i see such mess along the corridor. however if i know about it and still went ahead to buy it, why the unhappiness then. -
may be the laundry stand is for shared / common use ?

If it is clean laundry, still not so bad. Last time, my neighbour will air the sons’ mattress, which is urine-soaked every day. Can you imagine the stench?

Lolmum....unfortunately it is not there when we went for viewing, whole corridor is clear. By then we saw the chaos, too late cos have oreadi exercise the option... :stupid:

Yes it is not as bad but still dun feel good! Mixed feeling of tell or not to tell...

If you keep your front door closed all the time, then maybe it’s better not to say anything. Look at it positively, when water evaporates from the wet clothes, cooling takes place and the air around actually feels a bit cooler. Plus, some detergents smell really good…
If you complain, they may take offense and then sabotage you with something smelly… like urine-soaked mattress…
