Need help!! A farmer has 80 chickens and goats. There are 250 legs. How many chickens are there? (Use assuming all method). Anyone??

Assume all 80 chickens.
80x2 = 160
250-160 = 90
4-2 = 2 (goat has 4 legs but chickens have 2 legs)

90/2 = 45 -> no. of goats.

Hence chickens is (80-45)=35.

1) Find the value of 7/12-2/9? Is there an easier way to make the denominator
the same?

2) James invited 5 friends to his birthday party. Each friend shook hands once
with each of the other at the party. How many times did they shake hands?

3) Daniel has 1/7 as many cards as Jon. They have 256 cards altogether. How
many cards must Jon give to Daniel so that they each will have the same
number of cards? (Pls provide with MD)

4) Jason had 180 stamps more than Xavier at first. After Jason had lost 220 of his
stamps, Xavier had thrice as many stamps as Jason. Find the number of stamps
Jason had at first? (Pls provide with MD)

5) Jaclyn had a roll of ribbon 10m in length. She used to 2/5 of the ribbon for a
Teacher’s Day present and her sister used 21/4 m of the remaining ribbon to
wrap a birthday present. What was the length of ribbon she had left?

6) Russell uses 4 letters, A,B,C and D to form a pattern. Th first 16 letters are
shown below. Which letter is in the 74th position?
A,A,B,B,C,C,D,D,A,A,B,B,C,C,D,D… So is it divide 74 by 4 or 74 by 8 to get the
Ans? It got 4 different shapes but doubled the shapes pattern.

7) At a supermarket, Elijah paid $5.45 for 6 bottles of orange juice. For every 6
bottles of orange juice bought, 2 additional bottles would be given free. Elijah
left the supermarket with a total of 72 bottles of orange juice. How much did
he have to pay in all? Round off your answer to the nearest dollar. We’ve got
the answer $294 but it stated $49.

The area of the square is 40cm2. If it’s 400cm2 so what is the perimeter?

8. If area of square is 400 m2, each side = 20 cm, so perimeter = 20 cm x 4 = 80 cm

7. Elijah paid $ 5.45 for every 8 bottles --- 6 bottles + 2 free bottles.
Amount paid for 72 bottles = 72 / 8 x $ 5.45 = $ 49.05 = $ 49 (to nearest dollar)

6. Divide by 8 because the pattern repeats every 8 letters AABBCCDD.
74/8 = 9 R2 r--> remainder 2 --> 2nd letter --> A

5. Ribbon left = 3/5 x 10 m - 2 1/4 m = 3 3/4m

Q1. use LCM, or for two fractions only - just multiply the denominator to get the common denominator

u r welcome.. for Q3, it is ok to leave in 7 blocks.. it was divided into 2 each cos I drew only 6 blocks at first so I had to divide into 2 each...lazy to make changes after added 1 more block so I left it \"divided\"

in the end,
C = 3 units
H = 1 unit

Before, C= 3 units + 83, H = 2 units
C+H = 5 units + 83 = 1213 ..I think you can complete the solution from here
