      KSP:
      MummySTay:

I really do not know how much weight they carry, but I guess RGS does not just look at one area; kind of like the whole package thing. Results and other achievements are both equally important, especially for those in the mainstream. For DD, I basically Kiasu a bit and added in whatever I could: from academics to music, CCA and even other skills like tennis, bowling, etc.

      thanks for sharing...

that sounds like a \"resume\" to me.... is there a template from the school (RGPS/RGS or the Sec school of interest)?

      Welcome.

Oh yes. Usually required to fill in the registration form online. There are actually various stipulated components that one must fill in - like P5 results (SA 1 & 2), P6 SA1 results, and other achievements. Then print out a copy of the DSA cover page and submit all the 'proofs' (hard copy) to the school.

P6 kids applying for RGS now is like ... applying for a job, preparing a well written CV stating down your list of achievements, soft skills, leadership skills, etc.

        gasp! :scared:

I’m asking on behalf of a friend. Will girls who transfer from other schools to RGPS in P5 be placed in 5E/F or just any of the other classes? Thanks.

DD was transferred in at P4. Despite all her subjects being >90%, from a good girls' school, she was placed in an average class. I think the same would apply for P5, but it's just my guess.

Thanks MummySTay. My friend's concerned bec classes stay intact in P5 to P6. So if you don't get into 5E/F you won't get into 6E/F. It's not too bad in P4 bec if you do well you can still get into 5E/F.

Any other mummies know if transfer students stand a chance of getting into 5E/F?

Unless the student has well known awards for the school to assess her standard against, it would be difficult to figure out if another school's 90% is the same as its 90% in order to determine the top 80. If she does have awards, maybe your friend could appeal to the school and accept the transfer on that condition.

Thanks aqeqiq. That’s what I thought too. A bit risky to do a transfer if she doesn’t end up in the top class as she’ll definitely be in the top class in her current school.

I think is too risky to transfer unless it confirm to be in e/f class if not stay put will be better choice.
