      HI Ladies,

My son’s Math teacher emailed us 2 days before the Maths SA2 to check kids’ pencil cases to make sure there are pens which work, have set squares/compass, pencils, erasers.

I love to stock up on stationery…it’s so enjoyable to fill up the basket during Bookfest with all the diff things (all the stuff Picolo mentioned) bcos when I open the drawer at home, I like to be able to find what I want. This time round, have to get more 2B pencils for PSLE and Brother label with pink/yellow/green background.

Hi Janet, I will also check my DS's pencil case before an important exam. He tends to lose his stationery, bring 4 pens & in the end left only 1 or 2! 😓 Always looking for ruler or rubber when in need! :nailbite:

When asked where r all his missing stationery, always give me the innocent look! So I need to stock up lots of stationery at home too. 😢

Mine here got on my nerves when I asked him on Thur whether he has prepared set squares/compass...told me 'I don't know'. :slapshead: Then I asked him if he checked his calculator. He said, 'don't know'.

            Mummies of P5 kids,

Just go ahead to buy an extra set of calculator and an extra set squares+protractor for your kids. You need to ensure they bring along an extra set during major national level exams like PSLE, so no harm in getting an extra now.

Same goes for Chinese dictionaries - if you want to buy an extra electronic dictionary, make sure your kid bring along an extra MOE-approved paper dictionary for major exam. No harm being more KS as just in case "kena suay suay" (touch wood) electronic calculator / dictionary "kong out" last minute.

Note all calculators and dictionaries may need to get school approval stamps before Prelims / PSLE. So be prepared early. Some schools also require the use "transparent" pencil cases or ziploc bag for major exams…just fyi so if you may want to prepare some of these should you come across.

Mine worst. That day saw his pencil case & calculator on the sofa, so purposely asked him if he has packed his bag & ensured he brought everything, he assured me that everything packed inside his bag. :slapshead:
So I innocently asked him then what are those 2 things on the sofa? And he goes :yikes: and with me

                      Chenonceau & Janet,

You are most welcomed. I went thru’ it 1st hand and a bit of last minute "scrambling" to buy some items. Happen to see this thread discussing about getting stationaries ready for exams. Thought might be useful to share info around so that parents need not do last minute rush.
