      Hi there,

Does anyone have any shared experiences on any courses for 4 year olds to enhance their analytical skills or at least ignite their interest in Math? I have heard of Jelic, but would like to hear from those who have tried the course.

My niece and nephew was in abacus course, and it actually helps in their arithmetic computation skills. That should help to boost their confidence and interest in Math.

But think most abacus course need the child to be able to write 1 - 9 before they take them.

          Could you elaborate regarding Jelic?

                Hi Sleepy.

I read that Jelic is more relevant if the kid is 5 years of age. Is it true?
What is the earliest age to send for Jelic?
Since Jelic is taught in MPM and there quite a number of them in Singapore, are all them of good standar? Or are certain centres below par? Any idea if the the centre in Tiong Bahru is good?

                Tks

                  Hi,

I send my girl when she is 3+ to Jelic @ Toa Payoh. So far, she has been enjoying the class.
It is similar with MPM Maths in a way except my girl is too young to read the question and thus hand on practise like Jelic suits her better.
Once she turns 5, I will switch her to MPM.

My gal also attended Jelic at 3+, she did it for 2 over years before progressing to MPM. What we like about Jelic is no homework. She enjoyed it very much and sometimes referred it to the ‘box’ school when she just started. I think besides analytical, it also train independence as my gal need to look for the correct numbered boxes and put it back to the right place when she finished with it.
