I hope he does well there.. was shocked at his CL test results.. way lower than I expected... we have been revising and revising and his reading has improved... really looking forward to getting the papers back to see what went wrong

You mean there was a CL test recently? How come I didn't know? I didn't ask and ds didn't bother to share. How did you get to know the marks?

So much for being a self-proclaimed hands-on parent, haha.

What do the instructors do if the kid had already attained the Gold/Gold Star award?
Allow a cheeky reply from me, sorry can't resist. πŸ˜‰

For those Gold award winners, they get them to become the instructors too.

The P3s will be having Swimsafer programme this week till 16th Nov. May I know whether any parents ever volunteered in this programme before? My understanding is the kids will be grouped according to the awards they had attained from external swim classes.

What do the instructors do if the kid had already attained the Gold/Gold Star award?
my son went last yr and it seemed not organized. he already had a bronze award yet they put him in the beginner category and in the end he only got the basic award and he said he did not learn anything. anyway, i let him go just for the fun of it.

For Math, if your older boy used Shaping Math...it's no longer in use.

P5-6 using 'My Pals' now. Other than that, it's the same for English 'My Pals'. I'm waiting to do spring-cleaning for next year too.

I need to check whether our EL My Pals (bou 2nd hand) are latest editions.

Next week might hv non-classroom activities, u really not sending your boy to sch?

Next week Tue and Thur no school. Will send him to school if he is making too much noise at home.

Thanks, dyh, for your info. There was a letter getting each child to indicate their level of achievement. I guess, in the end, it was still hard for them to allocate the groupings. Yes, all for the fun.

I believe the swimsafe prog is compulsory. We wrote in to be excused, citing medical reasons.

If I remembered correctly, last year the swimsafe prog coincided with gep screening test. I think quite a no of parents requested to be opted out of this prog due to the screening test. So in the end, they just shortened the swimsafe prog duration by excluding the test date.

This time round, they must have learnt their lesson as the swimsafe prog is planned after gep screening test, selection test & exam are over. πŸ™‚
