2012 P1 Registration Exercise for 2013 In-Take

Thanks hquek. In your view, is FFMS comparable to ACS? I am wondering whether it is worthwhile to send my kids to a mixed school having my DS and DD in two different schools, which will mean more logistic issues for me.


I have also heard that the standard of FFMS is no longer as good as it was in the past, though it remain a popular school in that area. I tried to email the principal re visiting the school and was rejected upfront. :frustrated:

I have friends with kids inside Fairfield, I think the general feel is still positive. both I would feel are different types of school (with acs evoking a more atas feel to ME - I could be wrong).

My suggestion was more to take the easy way out, but leave a hope in case… it’s really not easy to select the best school. Just tell yourself whatever it is, that would be the best choice.

I will be registering my boy for primary one next year and we were rejected for PV from Fairfield Pri.


I need some advice here…

1. Am staying slightly more then 2km from Radin Mas Primary School, should I ballot the school?
2. Am staying far from Fairfield Pri, but my parents address is nearer to the Pri, should I ballot the school?
3. There is one neighbourhood school next to my block, should I just register the school?

Don't bother. You won't even get to participate in the balloting, so don't waste your P2C chance.

What were the complaints about? Did the complaints originate from parents with children studying in the school?

What other choices do you have?

I believe every school has its pluses and minuses. Take Radin Mas, for instance. I suppose you haven't heard anything negative about the school, right? But, does it mean the school has no flaws?

Of course, at the end of the day, both you and your husband need to decide what type of school you want your child to be in. You have to consider the options available to you, too. If there is no other choice available, my suggestion is to register your child in a school nearest to your house first.

By the way, this neighbourhood school - I presume its balloting history would indicate it had vacancies in P2CS, right? What other schools do you have in mind?

Can I register twice? First i will register my child under 2B outside 2km and is successful than register again under 2C within 1 km for other school near to my house.

No. You need to withdraw your registration from the first school before you are able to register with the second school.
