Maybe all schools received the result already. But due to the exams still ongoing, the schools decided to hold back the announcement. As for ACS maybe they've finished the exam yesterday hence the result of GEP selection test was released?[/quote]Most likely cos my DS still taking his exam...last paper tomorrow thus make sense that they teacher told them that result for selection out by Friday...

[/quote]No lah. I work as a supervisor in a student care centre. My ex-student now in NUS High School , studying in Sec Two. Now I have three students waiting for the GEP result. They r very brilliant academically n socially. I always enjoy interacting with them n am amazed by their motivation to learn beyond the classroom. And the most important thing is that they have such good attitudes as well. It is such a great pleasure to know them. :grphug:

My DS's classmates mostly think about playing... but they are really like to compare and compete.. but a lot are not 'sharing' type.. worry others get better grade or result compared to them...

my DS got the interest in books since he was 3 yrs old... he can sit down in a corner flipping through book while we looked around shop. We bought a lot of books which interest him, mostly science.

for my DD, she passed 1st round. She's not as 'study' type as her brother. The brain is used for non-academics things. She liked to explore what interest her. In academic, as long as can pass, enough for her. So still waiting anxiously for the 2nd round result...
DD never really touched those books that we bought for DS...

actually the gep is not a homogeneous group. ever observed a grp project. there was a natural leader, another with ideas, another good at implementing the ideas, finally one who was totally not interested.

gep kids or mainstream kids, they’re the same in terms of playfulness, social skills, general characteristics, etc. Kids are just kids, gifted or not


Only difference is their processing speed, able to process info at faster pace and a bigger hard disk space to store more data

And to add, these GEP kids are gifted as per the criteria MOE has set (i.e. English, Math, logical reasoning, patterns, top 1% of those who take the screening tests...), there are definitely other kids who are gifted in other ways not measured by the GEP selection tests...!

Spoken to the P when picking kid up today. P said she has not received anything yet (she should be the first one to know right). So perhaps MOE release it by batches...? Like Round 1??
