[Fun Poll] How satisfied are u with ur child(ren) results?

Just a fun poll to see how satisfied we are, being kiasu parents after spending how much on enrichments and tuitions, with our child(ren) school results.

for dd, the year end exam results so so. pulled her out of learning lab after 2 terms there and so only has chinese tuition. we are very happy that she passed her chinese (c6). so all add up, results still okay with ABCs.


for ds, not much work done with him. also pulled him out of learning lab after 2 terms. mini tests results not out yet and i dont remember the results for the earlier tests. but i think overall still okay.

dh and i do look at the marks but i was a really bad kancheong case years ago. though once in a while, the kancheong feeling still flares up but learnt my lesson well, so hands off the assessment books and too much tuitions.

For Ds in P1 - doing pretty well academically so far (with little effort though) - no academic enrichment / tutions, i do guide/coach .

By nature I am critical - does not mean i am not satisfied its just one needs to be the best one can be. A little difficult to say how this will turn out.

For DD in Sec1 this year - no academic enrichment / tutions.
And totally hands off - she can ask me a doubt and i try and answer but thats about it. The kind of doubts she is asking me, dont think can keep up for long Learning at her school has her motivated and stretched so yes its more of an emotional support for her

Schooling its not just marks, its about the subject , a certain level of proficiency, raising the bar and trying to reach it that makes learning an interesting challenge.
So while I am happy with performance and learning, I do keep thinking if there is some thing trigger their interest ,that could keep them motivated, ways to make look at topics from a different prespectives ... not just fact based learning

For Chinese and English, they are \"about there lah\". But for Maths it could have and should have been better. :sad:

Overall, dragged down by Maths, so was below what I thought he should and is capable of achieving. :sad:

That's fast for all SA papers to be back. When was the SA?

Your DS' school standard is probably very high to begin with. Probably should see how he compares with other schoolmates, right?

careless mistakes or foundation issue?
my boy got his lowest math score yet, but it is due to carelessness.
so he owe me a decent cup of ice-cream already.

my son’s L1R5 is 12 points, he is not happy about it. His personal and school target for his class is single digit…So back to more revision and better preparation for next year.
