talking about this money depreciates thing.

one fine day, i went to buy a bao from a store. i gave the china woman a 20 cents (those old kind, now already APPRECIATE), I didn't want to keep it so I just use it to pay. she didnt accept the money and then said that it's NOT 20 cents. I asked her to look carefully again. then she said she can't recognise its a local 20 cents an not other foreign currency!

that's the problem of importing foreigners.

      anyway, OT already.
mind you.. they are \"talent\" ok 😆

One piece of BS nonya kueh is now 90 cents! DH can gobble a few at one go....

not only that, the slices are getting thinner......esp the 9-layer kueh

That's what we were complaining about just the other day. How to enjoy these traditional kuehs without feeling the pinch and who will want to make them in time to come? The shops are better off producing value added goodies which cost more. Everyone will concentrate on making run of the mill cakes which costs over $4 per piece and designer buns.

Now a slice of cake cost as much as a plate of chicken rice! Don’t know whether we need to pay $10 for a plate in 5 years time.

Yah cost of living getting ridiculous nowadays.

I remember I used to buy buns for breakfast for 70¢ each. Now, each is at least $1.50. Just went to Crystal Jade bakery over the past weekend and spent almost $20 on bread! Very heart pain.

When I go out for lunch, I bring my own water bottle. Lucky where I work still can get $2 niang dou fu and $2.20 mixed rice (tho portion on small side). So it seems ridiculous to then pay $1.30 for sugar cane drink!

I'm very sure SINGAPORE is printed somewhere on the coin..

                        no?

                        Show it to her.. then

tell her it is illegal to reject a legal tender currency for S&P transactions..
