MotherHen:
Sighzzz...dd just got back her Math SA2 paper. Didn't do very well, only managing 83/100. Looks like I have to be on tenterhooks until all papers are back, then can relax (or probably die of heart attack by then)...
Dear Motherhen,
I think her math results are good... I dun even know if my DS can score that high for Maths. Most importantly, she had done her best. Take it easy.

Afraid your DD may be the one on tenterhooks, if you continue to stress her by having such high expectations of her at such a tender age.. I have promised my DS2 that I would give him a reward, if he gets >80 marks for all his subjects. DS2 managed to get >80 marks (low 80s) for 3 subjects only, but I will still give him a reward, as I know he has tried his best! JMHO..MotherHen:

Of all the papers in SA2, she said Math was the easiest. So, to be honest, I was expecting 90 (minus some careless marks, which always happens). I now shudder to think of her Chinese paper. She said main paper was \"ok\" and δ½ζ was \"horrible\". -
MotherHen:
:rotflmao: ... Haiz nowadays we parents are undergoing before and after exam stress..... Yesturday my dd told me she got 44/60 for maths section b+c... And I was :nailbite: .... Lucky today she got to know section a full mark ... So end up 84/100 heng ah ....

[/quote]Vlim, my DS told me SA2 is easier than SA1. He told me for Math Sec B&C, he got a total of 36/60, which I told him its not good... He left one question blank cos he dunno how to do it, so out of 6 questions, he got 3 correct. But I must see his section B to comment. Until now, section A is not out yet... Marking day is tomorrow, so next week, my heart will beat very fast. But no matter what, I told him since he had done his best, I believe in him. My expectation is that he'll pass all subjects and improve....
You shd give your DD a pat on the back! -

Thank you everyone for putting things in perspective. I guess Iβm just very worried cos dd2 (the one in P3 right now) is very very dreamy and laid back. As such, her results are also like stock market, depending on how well she can focus on exam day. I always worry about which way it would swing. My hubby also tells me to relax around her, cos thatβs her character. But my worry sometimes go into overdriveβ¦
Ah well, Iβm gonna go home and give her a big hug, then indulge in ice-cream together. -

Good that your dd know already... I \"tested\" him last night.... Oh my friend's dd said she got back the paper already. What about yours???? He asked which class? and went on to comment that his classmates were too noisy and made FT angry so teacher never give out any paper. :slapshead: He has CCA today so will only reach home around 5plus....
So far, all the good news from my P4. I was telling a friend that I better enjoy the \"happiness\" now before I hear from my P3. He usually depletes my happiness. The trend has been such that one makes me happy and the other don't... Why can't I be very happy for once :? Next year... I'll have 3 to worry about. :faint:
I shall prepare for the worst (though I hate to do so) as I hope that he can really do his best (be very careful, check and check and check). Ok.... if he does well, that is a bonus. :frustrated: -
All mummies up there,
what kind of rewards do u usually "tempt" yr child ? I am totally lost in thisβ¦ I even offer DS a kindlefire if he can do well, but he said "wat for?". Just recently , I had given him a rain cheque for some $ for his BD ( which had coincided with the yrend exam , hence no time to think or shop for his present ) , and he came back and said he wld use that for my xmas present ! So any ideas how to "motivate" him to get good results ? Appreciate all ideas β¦TIA -
My ds asked for a camera. He wanted those DSLR camera..... anyway we only got a normal camera for him.
Fil promised him a rolex if he is 1st in class. I think fil probably thinks that ds cannot make it that's why made such a promise.
Rewards aside, I do fine him for every careless mistake... things he already know but yet make a mistake. Every marks count, every mistake will also cost him $. This works very well on my girl but boys being boys.... we shall see if this method works on him.
Whatever I collected from him will go into a dinner treat from him to all of us.
