      Hi All,

I have a friend who is in Batam has a contact officer to do the KTKLN , he is charging at S$180 per pax (with full documents supported)… if more than 2 pax, fee is negotiable.(if door to door service, subject to addition fee) <– i am not sure is the fee reasonable? pls advice
what you need to do is scan and email the documents to him, once the officer confirmed can be done, he will ask for 50% deposit upon collect the documents from you, and remaining 50% upon collection of the card.

        Hi,

For airflight, I booked Lion Air. SIN - JKT return. My maid is going back in mid Nov and it cost $119 for the return airfare. It is by default 20 kg luggage so no need to add on like budget airline. You can try to check the flight and price online. Unfortunately due to payment system, we cannot pay online so can only purchase the ticket at Changi airport terminal 1 or stamford court where Lion Air is based.

I went to the Indonesia embassy this am to do up a new working agreement for my maid. This is one of the criterias for KTKLN as they have indicated in a notice in the embassy. No need for forms, etc… I went directly to 2nd floor, got a queue number from the working agreeement reception and we were done (eg. got the signed working agreement) by 9.30am.

I also checked on the home leave endorsement. My maid currently has a endorsement in her passport so I enquired if I need to have that renew. They said this is only necessary when changing passport otherwise the earlier endorsement is valid.

Thanks for sharing such good deals. I also found some cheap tickets to Jakarta with air Asia and tiger airways but my helper said she prefers to fly to Bandung to do the paperworks. searched for cheaper airlines and found Batavia airlines. I am not sure whether it flies to Jakarta but you may try. Only setbacks is that they don’t fly everyday. Managed to get $150 round trip with 20 or 25 kg allowance. I could buy the tickets online.

I know Lion Air flies to different part of Indonesia. You may want to try that. Forget Batavia airlines if you've not book.

I used Batavia airlines the 2 yrs back. My maid is from Lumpung.... So she had to fly to Jakarta and take a connection fligth to Lumpung. But guess what... the flight was cancelled or rescheduled at the last minute and till today... I still cannot get back the payment. My maid cannot collect the payment on my behalf. For that amount, I won't want to fly to Indonesia for that. So just write off. So personally, i will never do batavia again. At least Lion Air has a direct sales office in spore.

Do the comparison, I tried Air Asia, Tiger and Jetstar and all amounted to around $170 - $190 with option of 20kg. So Lion air was cheap comparatively.

I got a fright when Air Asia sms regarding my maid’s flight.

Luckily everything remained the same except for the change in carrier number.
Actually, i am happy with air asia’s service.
I had some queries prior to booking and called their hotline and my call was promptly answered.
I also called them up to change my maid’s passport number and they promptly answered my call followed by an email as confirmation.

My maid wishes to recontract for another 2 years and will be on home leave end of nov 2011, her WP expire on 25 nov 2011, her passport expire in dec 2012, KTKLN (overseas worker) card expire in dec 2012 . I have just renewed her WP online and apply home leave endorsement at the Indonesia Embassy. What other matters that i might have miss out? Thanks.

If your helper has the ktkln card, then it should be ok. Otherwise, she would need the work agreement to do the ktkln card.

I assume that you have renewed her contract for 1 year.
Once her work permit is renewed successfully, and you have purchased a return air ticket for her, everything is settled on your part.
Just remember to give her the work permit card when exiting Singapore and remind her to have her KTKLN card ready for inspection in Indonesia on her journey back to Singapore.
