KTKLN for indo maid?
-
Oh no! Hope the flight won’t be cancelled! Already paid the tickets.

I got a fright when Air Asia sms regarding my maid’s flight.
Luckily everything remained the same except for the change in carrier number.
Actually, i am happy with air asia’s service.
I had some queries prior to booking and called their hotline and my call was promptly answered.
I also called them up to change my maid’s passport number and they promptly answered my call followed by an email as confirmation. -
Seeking advice
My maid wishes to recontract for another 2 years and will be on home leave end of nov 2011, her WP expire on 25 nov 2011, her passport expire in dec 2012, KTKLN (overseas worker) card expire in dec 2012 . I have just renewed her WP online and apply home leave endorsement at the Indonesia Embassy. What other matters that i might have miss out? Thanks. -
If your helper has the ktkln card, then it should be ok. Otherwise, she would need the work agreement to do the ktkln card.

Once her work permit is renewed successfully, and you have purchased a return air ticket for her, everything is settled on your part.
Just remember to give her the work permit card when exiting Singapore and remind her to have her KTKLN card ready for inspection in Indonesia on her journey back to Singapore. -
Noted. Thanks

Just checked with my helper. She does not have the KTKLN card. That's why the agent arranged for her to take flight from Jakarta to Batam, then Batam to Singapore via ferry. The agent said that way she does not need the KTKLN card.
Have any of you heard of this way?
Just wondering if I were to do self-renewal when her contract expire, do I need to apply for KTKLN card for her before she goes for home leave? I have read through this thread but still do not have a very good idea on how to apply for KTKLN card. Can apply for this card at the Indonesian embassy?
Thanks

Nope. The card can’t be done at the Indonesian embassy. It can only be done in the designated offices in Indonesia. But one of theoffice is located in Batam. May be your agent will do the card there? Please note that your helper would need the working agreement (to be done at the embassy) and copies of her passports and green card to do the card. Also need to buy insurance there at a fee.

Let me see whether she wants to renew her contract 1st. Nowadays all of them want to go HK/Taiwan.

Updates.
My maid went back on 12th November. She called me twice :
* Her flight arrived in JKT at 3plus. It wasn't until the next morning that they can leave the airport. She said that domestic workers cannot leave the airport and take transport by themselves. There is a transport that brings all the domestic workers from airport to somewhere..... Anyone is aware of such practise? Didn't have this issue when she flew directly to her kampung last time round.
* I gave her SGD as a bonus at the airport. She said they change the SGD I gave her to IDR but at a significantly lower rate.
* She called on last saturday saying that she had done her KTKLN card. it took her 1 day. However... she need to pay S$100 more to whoever... tsk tsk tsk
Just wonder why should the poor maid be exploited??? :spank:
For those whose maid are going back for home leave, take this as a watch out.
