regarding the mother of 5 case, this is what I fear.

a child's esteem will be hurt badly, if he/she 'fall from grace'.
more inclined to let a child stay in mainstream, at least this is how I feel.

Actually I feel that all the schools should announce the results on the same day to avoid the anxieties. Some schools have holidays till next Wed - imagine how short the notice is to make such a big decision for the child. Briefing next Sat, final decision following Wed.

Congratulations to all those kids who got in. My daughter's teacher confirmed that my DD did not get in :-).

Do not feel discourage. Think of the positive side. You'll have more time to prepare her for PLSE. That's what i'll do if my DS fail to get it.

Congratulations to all those who got in! My son’s school has not announce anything yet. Will wait till Tues, don’t feel like calling the school to find out. Their school students were only told the first round results on Children’s Day. Feel that the school likes to release results late. Really happy for those who got selected!!!

(Can someone teach me how to insert those smiley faces?) I’ve come into Kiasuparents as to find out more about GEP. Thanks to everyone who had put up their advices in Kiasuparents!

Just got call from school my ds also got in, now the concern is should we take it or not? As my son doesn’t want leave his school and friends, it is really a hard decision

My student from Nan Chiau also not keen to take up the offer when I asked him. Not yet talk to his parents. But even if not, I believe the parents should be very happy to know that their son has made it through without any GEP tuition programme. He is really talented. In my centre, he is already doing Pri 5 math’s. He is very good in many types of games too even though he is quite small size.

seems like kids offered GEP are usually those ... who can do 1 or 2 year's ahead of studies in advance. :yikes:
