Dear germum, suggest that you identify your DD strong & weak subjects, then when papers r back, find out what she did wrong especially in her strong subjects - is it due to carelessness or really don’t know. Identify the topic/s she is weak in & give her coaching on those topics. As for weaker subjects, do build up her foundation during this school holidays. Good Foundation must be there in order to proceed further.

How about top schools’ P6 papers, including prelims? Thanks.[/quote]

Every year I get them through phone order and they deliver it to my house. I pay them upon delivery.

            Hi fellow comrades,

Any suggestions on how to improve Chinese? I think due to poor foundation, my DD is issues recognising the chinese characters and their meanings. Stress!

                  Hi ASLMum,
                  Learning the 生字表 helps...esp 识写字.
辨字测验 is also another area you can help your daughter with. My son's biggest prob area is 短文填空 and comprehension. The recent SA2 passage were real killers esp the 2nd one.

Has anyone been to Yu Quan language school? Any feedback on the Chinese Idioms course where they claim can help the child with chinese character recognition. My concern is that my DD does not understand the meaning of the characters and hence does not know how to apply in the exams…

I did not focus on the chinese idioms at all during my ds1 PSLE.They will not be tested in Paper 2. AT most can only use in Paper 1. So to me it is not so important.
