As a rough guide, I was told that the structure of the science program at NUSH is as follows:

by year 2 - complete O level syllabus
By year 4 - complete A level syllabus
Years 5&6 - university modules, research and attachment programs, Olympiad etc.
      Hope this helps. 😄

          [quote=\"verykiasu2010\"]多数的直通车中学(IP)都是在课程上很超前的,因为不需要花时间来准备O水准的考试,把节省下来的时间学习更深入的课题.

          能考进IP学校的孩子们是属于学习能力比较强的,有天份的,所以学校会加快学习的步伐,把省下来的时间也利用在许多额外的学习,例如哲学和领导理论,到国外与其他学校交流浸濡等

          你的双语都很强哦,佩服。

            hi Restless_Mum,

for a start, go down NUS High bookshop.

buy their past year papers & Sec 1 workbook experiments for (3 Sciences + Maths, English, Chinese, etc). Let your girl practise at home. closely monitor her progress. from there, you'll know how near / far off she is.
Are you sure you can buy past year papers from the school bookshop? :?

Telephone of NUS High bookshop (located inside canteen):

Dun think so, but not sure.
But this much i can tell they only had one text book to buy (for bio) , which is pretty high level ( but they did only parts of it revelant to their module)

                      No workbooks .

One suggestion is - take a look at the syllabus like the modules - all MA1 modules relate to year one and so on. See the details
and try to relate it to the secondary school books. Ask her to check what she has covered , and likely to cover in Sec2. The remaining topics she probably needs to touch base.

This will also give you a broad understanding of NUSH's objective and strategy.

All the best to your DD.

The level i believe goes one notch higher from Year3 . The school expects more and the new overseas scholars who join in Year3 also raise the bar and expectations.

Its not easy entering in Year 3 but hope your DDs determination, passion and perseverance will help her make it. All the best.
