2009 DSA(Direct School Admission)
-
I was told by a friend that a child was accepted by one of the school with IP, even though PSLE score did not meet the entry requirement. Child did well in EL, Math, Science but score pulled down by CL. Does anyone know of such cases?

If she had accepted thru dsa, she must had done well enough to be selected, no need to worry about the psle score, unless she did really bad like below 200. I believe her school percentage around 85% above if she applied thru academic domain.

May be the score just miss cut-off and they went to appeal. Believe the score is still good, may be 25+ depend on which IP school you talk about. -

Was admission via DSA ?
MOE stipulates that if you are offered a comfirmed place with IP school via DSA, this place is gauranteed as long as your PSLE score meets the requirement for express stream. So, no IP school can turn you down after making you a DSA offer and your PSLE score qualifies for express stream.
If by \"entry requirement\" you mean the entry requirement to express stream, then I don't think any IP school can violate MOE ruling. If \"entry requirement\" means the PSLE COP of school, then there are many students admitted thru DSA who had scores lower than school PSLE COP. However, many of them are performing as well as or even better than students admitted thru PSLE with score of 260+. -

You can go online and apply, for RGS i know, cause i applied dsa last year. They will ask your subject preference and then you will go to the sch on the date and take the GAT test, then a test(if you pass) for the subject that u said u prefere. (the math test was DIFFICULT)Hi,
Not sure how many parents here have P6 children. But the online system provided by MOE is an avenue for the students to register their preference online, after they are offered a confirmed place or on the school's waiting list through the school's DSA exercise.
To apply for DSA, you still need to apply directly with the secondary school.
The best is still call up the secondary school you are interested in to apply for DSA and ask for the procedure. -

My son came back from school today. I thought the school will give the letter to him, but they didn’t. Either the school didn’t receive it from MOE or they will not be giving it directly to the students.
Anyone received the DSA letter so far?
