The thing is, I didn't really teach him that. So far, I noticed that he's able to react positively to obstacles naturally. I think a child who has high confidence in his self-worth will be able to that; unlike me who suffers from low self-esteem when I was young.Jennifer:
One thing I really admire about ds is that despite his many flaws - whiny, bossy, mischievious etc etc - is the way he handles adversity.
:rahrah: this is one of the best life skills we can teach them.
We're certainly very blessed in this aspect.
He is gifted.
Start thinking about it. Don't be like us. After one gruelling week, the application form is still sitting at home.

In fact, I considered this the MOST important skill in life - the ability to face adversity and move forward. -

I'm having a bad mood cos of ds too. He didn't do well for one of his tests and I told him that I was pretty disappointed. One thing I really admire about ds is that despite his many flaws - whiny, bossy, mischievious etc etc - is the way he handles adversity.taz:
Today's super bad mood, mc with eye infection & knee cap pain, still has to work & attend mtg then girl brought back her \"rotten\" result back!!
Though my face was very black, he had the courage to take the initiative to explain to me patiently why he got some of the answers wrong. From that explanation, I realised he only made one careless mistake. The rest were not really his fault. From this example, I know that he'll grow up to be a much stronger character than me.
You take care.
