My friend was just telling me that in fact if she can choose she would want her son to go into classD onwards cos the first 3 classes are a mixture of other races and depending on the luck of those taking Chinese and other mother tongue which has more students, the minority will have to shift classes, ie if the class A has more students taking tamil, those taking Chinese or Malay will have to move to class B or C. I do not like the idea of children shifting class, it can be quite disruptive.

My child received his book list and apparently the appointed book store for Nanchiau is Pacific Bookstores. And in the book list, they said that we can pre-order online. However, when I went into the website, I donโ€™t see NanChiau listed in the list of schools. Any idea why? Could it be that the school has not submitted the book list?

My DS v kpo lah. :rotflmao: All the 1st in class & top 3 in std of various levels already given invitation card on Mon & had their pix taken on Tue. This year, there r some classes w two 1st positions. The \"fight\" is that close. ๐Ÿ˜“

              Hello Vevey,

seems like this year no lvl position.

There is no class or level position. I will ask form teacher on Mon during PTM. I heard they got all the info, just not published in the report book.

Last yr also Pacific Bookstores. Maybe the list not reach them yet. Anyway, I prefer to buy direct at school.

DS' P2 report bk has class position but level positions were only disclosed to the prize winners during a separately briefing today when the rest were having assembly. There r 2x 1st, so no 2nd & 3x 3rd for P2 this year. These winners will each b awarded w an additional cert & cash prize from SHHK.

Actually not disclosing level positions of every1 also good lah. Imagine the feelings of those in 29x. The statistics r much more useful to gauge our kids' performance in a cohort. Positions r just a matter of relativity.

Neither is mine but no need to feel sad/angry/cheated abt the class arrangement lah. The fact is last yr's top 3 in P1 standard r from F & H class (twins) & these 3 will b attending this fri's award ceremony again. ๐Ÿ†’

Hi Vevey, btw how do you know the same three pupils are going for prize presentation this Fri? Thks!

Just to clarify that I'd misunderstood DS' rumbling last nite  , only 1 of the twins will b awarded this yr. Had edited my earlier post on this too.

But knowing the pos will let us better guage where he stands and maybe can work on it. To me, level pos is more meaningful than class pos as in a cohort.

Was P1 given the mean, max, min & std deviation stats this year? We didn't hv those last yr.
