My DD said the same thing; her class 3 boys in Top 5, while her friends from other class also have more boys than girl in the top 5 list.


One thing I am puzzle, what if two students having the same score fighting for Top 5 awards, so who to choose? Base on what criteria?

I was told by a form teacher that she will look into their raw scores to break the tie, but I don't know how to calculate the raw scores, also curious to find out more...

I am starting to feel stress putting my DD in this school.


Too emphasize on academic, even though she has done well overall 95% and yet I feel the teacher expect her to do better after talking to her teacher.

P1 only already so stressful.

Could it be just that it's the teacher in this class? Earlier in the year, I was a bit KPO and went to read some other classes' blog. I must say certain teachers gave me the impression that they are very result-orientated. It is the way they talked about how the class did for this test or that test. I even remember one commenting that how many out of how many got full marks in class for a particular test in term 1... :roll: With such teachers, if your child didn't get full marks, how not to be stressed? - Ya lo, how to reduce stress like that :slapshead:

Fortunately my DD's class isn't like that.

These days, I am quite switched off, don't even go to the blog for months at times.

My DS time used to be so relaxed from P1 to P4. His teacher even told me not to stress him too much especially during his P6 PSLE NOT to give him any more assessments so my son was so happy he played and played, while I am the one who got stressed out.

Would appreciate very much if you can share the experience of your kids in such classes. Do you see any difference in comparison with mainstream HA classes?

At present, I don't see the benefit. All non-core subjects and hoping that the \"magical dust\" will rub off from GEP students to these META students? That's dreaming right?

Or am I wrong to think of META like that?

Please advise ...

Hi, the man subject that next yr's META will do with GEP classes is GEP HCL and it is much more demanding n difficult than the mainstream HCL (one parent told me it is 40% compre, 20% vocab & 40% compo). At the end of the day, META kids will do the HCL and CL for PSLE, so I wonder what is the benefit of stressing kid out with GEP HCL while not being able to do SS and other core subjects.

- META
- HA (high ability)
- MA
- LA

Crème de la Crème will be the GEP
