I've been spinning all 3 yrs with my front load washer and no torn clothes so far. Previous machine also no torn clothes experience. Is yours a top load machine? My machine don't recommend any other detergent except Persil. I do add vanish (pink bottle) to my white and coloured wash.

Cooking plus washing 2 hrs is very fast, good job!

No name for the drying rack. I'll post photo someday

mine is front load. when i used electrolux and braun years ago, no torn clothes. but ever since i used EF, got some clothes start to tear. now that i m doing hsework mysf, i will monitor hows the result after lowering the spin speed.

2hrs cooking (1 soup, 1 stirfry veg, 1 stirfry fish, 1 steam chckn) including washing (but i washed the veg earlier in the morning) is considered fast? i was like aiyo so long. nx time where got time to coach my child schwork if i hv to cook at 3pm, finish at 5pm and bathe in time before my no 3 comes back from sch bus at 5.30pm.

what time do u mummies usu cook dinner?

i ironed today at 8’30am and only finish ard 1230pm.

plus folding current day’s clothes and lunch, already 2+. wow, my legs aching. i think better to handwash the mens’ biz shirts, no need to iron like mad

i tried washing the clothes overnite so this morning just hv to dry the clothes. saves me more time…

really must look for good ironing system

Hey thanks dasalo. haha....i think i have a long way to graduation. 🙂

Didnt feel the need to have the part time helper since there is only 3 of us in the house, and i am only working part-time. Feel the pinch when your income is down so much.

Is the Laura star4 good? Saw some negative reviews and its pretty ex. i cant take those steam irons coz DH likes his shirts with the neatly ironed lines, so steam iron cant have that effect you see.

With the little one at home, quite tough to do housechores. Must think of ways to distract him to sit by himself to play and i dont need to worry about him.

Sorry, playpen are those cots but in plastic type right?

If you don't want to spend so much getting a Laurastar, then try the Rowenta Irons but only get those range made in Germany not the China ones. Their steam power is quite good.

                Hi 24hr-Mum,

I guess you just started going maidless so its abit tough. It takes time to adjust yourself and after awhile you'll know when to do what and how to get it done real fast.

I usually cook during the weekdays but simple meals and we eat out on Sat/Sun. Someone just introduce the thermal pot to me. I'm doing some reseach into it now. You might want to look into that too. Also, you can pick out some pre-seasoned meats etc. from Coldstorage and just baked them in the oven served with salad or greens when you don't want to cook all day long. Pasta is another super quick fix and kids usually love it.

I normally iron the clothes 2x a week and about 1 1/2 hours each time. Then I fold clothes on days that I don't iron. This is a chore I do while watching movies after the kids go to bed at 9+pm so time passes quickly and painlessly. These days I put all the clothes into the dryer. Only during school hols, my DS will help me hang out the laundry in the morning and keep them at 6pm.

Hang in there for a few weeks and thing will ease out. I was so tired too doing all the chores initally. Good Luck!

This is the question i wanted to post too! My DH was telling me when the kids reached secondary school, i was like, is it that necessary for us to have a maid till then?

1st time I went maidless for 6 months. I was working and kids were 7+ and 3+. I had flexi working hours and I would drag them all to work with me. Crazy time even though I had a PT maid coming in to help.

2nd time I went maidless was end last year. So it's been a year since and tis time round without any PT maid. Kids are now 11+ and almost 7 years of age. I'm so burn out training maids that I done with them. Of course, I've stopped working.
