won't say is dismal - because each particular year's cohort and batch of students is different. Some years have bumper crop, while other years may encounter a dry spell in the desert.

perhaps next year, who knows - Nan Hua may bounce back with a bumper crop again. Chinese saying - 'feng shui lun lui zhuan'.

for RGPS - this year 22 is very good.

it's not easy to find gifted child. If a school can find 1 GEP student, i think it's already very good news.

Isn't it the trend for RGPS to produce 1 class of GEPpers every year? If so, then it is no bumper crop for us; just something to be expected. Perhaps jtoh can comment and clarify. Thanks. ๐Ÿ˜„

        Hi All,

Would like to find out more about the school culture in RGPS. Is it was pressurizing as I have heard others talk about? Would appreciate if anyone could share on the transition of kids from pre-sch to RGPS esp those from montessori pre-schs. Thanks!
Many schools are pressurizing but for RGPS the pressure and intense competition mostly comes in P5-P6. Transition of kids shouldnt be an issue because P1 teachers usually will help them adapt and kids are really adaptable and more resilient than you would think. as long as you know the basics whichever preschool you come from is not important. Alphabet, whole numbers, time... rgps will teach but pretty fast and it never hurts to learn more ๐Ÿ˜‚

School culture, many say that we are snobbish but that only applies to a group of pupils, certainly not all. one of the good things about rgps-the girls in every class are very united. they bond and form really close friendships.

I am sure you are now having a good time after 6 years of hard work, so many of us are curious on the bear souvenirs that all P6 girls receive, would you be able to post a picture here? ๐Ÿ™‚ http://i42.tinypic.com/2ldcbkh.jpg\">

It would be nice if the school crest is not on the foot! Why can't place it on the chest?

            Do you know NYPS figue?
NYPS is 34, but thatโ€™s becos it is a co-Ed school. Every year, for some incomprehensible reasons, there are more boys than girls GEPpers.
incomorehensible ? is the governmentโ€™s policy at play !
This is jumping to conclusion at best and down right irresponsible at worst. On what basis is your statement based on? If you really bother, you can easily find many information why the trend is more gifted boys than girls.

based on past years trend - our school on average usually can produce 1 class of GEP students on our own. This is considered normal, or expected. 1 class is Not called bumper crop.

              wish to clarify:-
my definition of 'bumper crop' means - in certain years, our school exceed beyond producing (more than) 1 class. ie. overflow into occupying up to 1.5, sometimes up to 2 classes, out of Total 3 GEP classes, since the programme had started way back > 2 decades back, from the olden days of 1984 onwards.

naked bear so cute ... kekekekekeke ๐Ÿ˜†

it is white - reminds me of snow white bear at Christmas time pulling the sleigh together in the snow, with the sleigh dogs.

Attended the P6 Graduation Ceremony this morning. The girls are still at the party; until 4 pm. Amazingly, did not see a single tear. There were plenty of hugs and photo-taking; memories of a lifetime.

I thought girls are supposed to be more emo.
Maybe the tears will come later, at the end of the party.
Or maybe, our girls are made of sterner stuff. ๐Ÿ˜„

Oh i think that bear was meant to be naked/white. I saw the P6 girlsโ€™ bears have alot of autographs/signatures from their friends on the bear body.

I think it is great that the school has given the p6 girls such a creative way of preserving their memories of their time in rgps.
