Hi all, need your valuable advice.

My son is entering Primary School in 2013. My husband is an old boy from Catholic High and I am from Nanyang Primary. We have decided that my girl (entering 2015) will go to Nanyang. However, we have yet to decide school for my my son. Distance and logistic are not an issue. Which would you pick?
I would choose NYPS since it is a co-ed school, hence both your children can attend the same school.
It could also be \"added insurance\" for your daughter since she will only register in 2014. No one is absolutely certain that the registration process will stay the same in 2 years' time. What if there are changes to the process, e.g. capped % Phase 2A vacancies? Then your daughter would be safer in the earlier Phase 1.

If you are thinking of affiliated sec, Catholic High will be the choice. If you are looking in terms of results of what the school produces, NYPS has a better track record, but your kid must be willing to work hard in there and parents need to be more hands-on in monitoring as well.

For ease and convenience, it is usually better to place kids in same sch. However, I would emphasize on choice to be dependent on your assessment of your kid and which sch do you think will cater to his needs / benefit him more.

          Hi all,

I am new to this forum, have yet to explore the other pages. Anyway hope the knowledgeable mummies can give me some suggestions as to which school to register for my boy next year 🙂

We are eligible to register in phases 2A2 for Pei Hwa and Henry Park. In terms of distance, we are not far from both as we are staying at Dover. In terms of academic performance, both schools are on par, I think. So what else should I look out for when I make my decision?
Was told HP's environment is more relaxed, not as stressful as PH. I did have another option but went ahead with PH for DS's registration this yr. As for academic performance, don't think both schools are on par. HP has GEP while PH doesn't have. Not really an apple to apple comparison IMPO.

PH is a SAP school. Thus, there is a certain level of emphasis for Chinese. You may want to take this into consideration (how strong your child is in this language and your committment in coaching him) when making your decision.

By the way, I think HP is nearer to Dover. The jam along Clementi Road near Ngee Ann Poly and Sunset Way can be quite bad in morning and evening.

Dear all, need some advice… If you have a chance to choose Pei Hwa (because ds1 is there), ACS Junior and ACS Primary (2b within 1km). Which one would you choose?

We don’t mind the distance, or siblings not in the same school. I like ACS because of its focus in sports, affiliation to ACS secondary school, less academic driven than pei hwa. We like Pei Hwa because of it’s focus in chinese and the discipline.

If I were you, definitely Ai Tong. If your DD finds the tempo too tough, she can transfer out of the sch after P1, P2.
