the selection test at beginning of P4 is for those going to join the AMEC as a CCA, like a math club of a sec school

the second selection test done at beginning of P6 is for the short term enrichment class gearing specifically for the MO in P6, namely SMOPS and RIPMWC

Yes, I was talking about NYPS. When my ds was P4 last year, there was a selection test and some students were selected to join the enrichment class conducted by Mdm Yap. It is not a CCA and it costs about $200 for 10 lessons. So, I wonder whether there is another selection test for AMEC. Is AMEC conducted by outside vendor or NYPS teachers? Thanks.

I believe \"amec\" is an initiative only found in gep primary schools.

It is not surprising to find students not doing well in both smops and ripmwc. Luck (and lack thereof eg carelessness) is always an important factor. Furthermore ripmwc & smops is different in nature, lesser time is allocated for ripmwc than smops.

I bought my copies last year. Mathshub should still have 2007 & 2008. I heard some vendors sell \"unofficial\" booklets of 2009.

Ok, let me call Mathshub to try my luck....

Any idea how long is the total duration for the short term MO enrichment class? is it sufficient ? Do the majority of NYPS kids attend external training (e.g. Mathshub) in addition to NYPS' MO enrichment class?

Anyway, just send them for some training, and when the time is ripe, let them take part in maths competitions.
